The Spurs guard rotation is the rotation of guards that provides the least amount of pts in the entire NBA.
Kawhi has no reliable SF backup on the entire roster and no reliable second scorer.
I don't know if you want to call it trash or what, but that's pretty bad, tbh.
Harden is legit, Russ is legit, Kl all are legit candidates...
And of course LeBron ...a case can be made for any of them not sure why Spur fan has to shit on the other great seasons, to prop up Leonard. If he wins i will be happy for him he has worked so hard to improve his offense he would be a fine choice as would a ny of the guys I mentioned ...
LeBron has had a average season by his standards and i dont think he should win, but if he won i wouldn't give a fuck its a media award anyways
Outside a few trolls, most Spurfans are just giving their opinions about why Kawhi should win it, not shitting on other candidates.
Saying the whole triple double thing, although still great, is a bit overrated is not shitting on other players' great seasons, imho.
:lol CN thinking giannis is a better candidate than harden
The best two way player in the game leading his team to the best record should be a sure thing MVP. But the media will probably beat off to Russ's triple doubles, tbh.
It's retarded that LeBron won't win an MVP again. That Cavs team goes from #3 to #28 without him.
I think Leonard's chances suffered significantly with this injury. After the Houston game, he had a lot of attention and a lot of eyes on him. Then had a subpar game vs OKC and got hurt. Then the epic GSW game that didn't happen.
And in the meantime, Russ and Hardin have had some monster games.
Speaking about "Harden burden"..Yeah, we now he is mailing it in playing on the other end, which happens to be half battle of game of basketball :lol..
An embarrassing defender..
Can someone tell me: does Djohn2008 actually believe "Harden > Kawhi"? :lmao
I may see case for his MVP, but does he think he is a better player than Kawhi? :lol
I'm telling you...it's not enough. He's going to have to maintain a very high level of play for the rest of the season and have at least one more "oh shit" game like he did in Houston.
Although, if LMA is out for an extended period and they end up with the best record...maybe that'll give him some extra consideration.
weird season tbh, never seen such a close MVP race with each player having obvious negatives to their case
Russ - team is garbage, 7th seed
Harden - stats and team record but his defense is non-existent and everyone knows he is a trash defender, team is better overall than Thunder easily
Leonard - best record, solid PPG and %s but lacks the gaudy ast, reb #s of the first two
LeBron - probably the MVP in reality because it's Lebron, but his team is stacked regardless of them being shitty when he's out (more due to Lue being a terrible coach, imo) and his record is meh for being in the east and the type of roster he has
imo Harden is going to win it, unless Spurs can take the 1 spot and create some separation and Leonard goes HAM in the next meetings vs. GSW and Cavs
and as for westbrook, i'd be pretty shocked if he got it but also not surprised if thats possible. Shocked because his team and record isnt good and players with similar season in terms of value to their mediocre team didn't win (see: 2006 Kobe, hell even Oscar finished 3rd in voting his tripdub year) but not shocked due to the fact that "averaging a triple double" sounds sexy to mainstream tards as well as the narrative with Durant leaving
On another note..Lebron MVP case is slipping with how badly the Cavs are playing even with him in the lineup and logging 40 minutes on the regular..They have been atrocious on the road this season and that middling record in East isn't going to cut...If Celtics gets the top seed, James is out of it..
Just because you say it and "say it again so I can understand it" it won't make it true, tbh. Sorry but ever since you laghed at the idea of Kawhi being better than LMA I can't no longer take you seriously. It's clear that you, either don't watch enough games, or you don't have the ability to fully understand it. In any case, your opinion is as valid to me as cobbler's talking about comfortable shoes.
Hey dumbjohn, how did Kawhi's ass taste on March 6th?
:cry it was just one game :cry
^^ having to Photoshop that. :lol
Meanwhile Kawhi with his usual 31, 5, 4 game to grab that 1st seed.
I don't care what the voters decide. Kawhi is the real MVP, and anyone who believes otherwise is a faggot.
If Kawhi doesnt win it at age 25, they might feel sorry enough to give it to him next year after another top 2 finish. Kawhi has a legit chance pf winning multiple MVPs and FMVP in hos career since it looks like the warriors shot themsleves in the foot with the Durant signing.
Also Harden is one of those guys that might win MVP but will be not be remebered in basketball hsitory ala Nash, Rose etc. :lol
Probably westbrook too. :lol
Speaking of MVPs. How did Lebron not win MVP in his return to celveland? :lol
An overachieving team at that.
:lol
Kawhi will Win one, if he doesnt win one this year and proccedds to play fantastic in the playoffs voters are going to be inclined tp vote for him next year and the years following.
There isn't a player right now in the Horizon that's looking like they're going to compete fofr MVP honours for years to come except for him. Harden and Westbrook narrative will die down..and no one else has the right combination of team wins-Star power- than Kawhi for the following years.
Lebron sure...but you get the feeling people are tired of voting for Lebron 2015 is probably the perfect example. Unreal how didnt get that much hype that year. +20 in wins too. Turned a non-playoff team into a contender.
But it is what it is.
Dude, why don't you watch a game for a change? No, Kawhi isn't asked/allowed to be the kind of ballhog that guys like Harden and Westbrook are. For the most part, the Spurs play a motion offense where everybody gets relatively equal chances (according to their talents) at getting pts and assists. You will never see a Spur get eye popping scoring or assisting numbers, but that doesn't mean Kawhi isn't right now the number one playmaker on the Spurs (specially since the year started).
I'll give you that on that aspect he's still not on the elite level of other players, but he's been improving dramatically and is, as I already said, the number one playmaker on the team. So, not only he has to be the best scorer and the best defender, he also has to be the number one guy setting up folks out there. I don't know how much more burden do you want.
Cue in ":cry b...but he doesn't score or assists on more than half of his team's pts :cry"
Well, no shit the Spurs aren't doing that, they actually have aspirations of winning the championship.
Leading team in Scoring, Rebounding, and Assists. (Leads league in assists as well)...Think about that. Only one other player on the team who averages above 7 rebounds per game. 29 games of scoring or assisting on 50% or more of his teams points. 16 triple doubles. Four 40 point triple doubles. All while playing EVERY game and heavy minutes.,
harden is shooting 36.7% on all shots that aren't layups or dunks... maybe he should start settling for assisted shots :lol. kawhi at 44.8%
harden's usage at 34.2 compared to kawhi's 31.3. yeah, that makes up for their defensive discrepancy
The retarded, outdated "high assists totals isn't ballhogging" comment. :lol
Dude if you have the ball on your hands for 99% of the possession, in the majority of the possessions of your team in a game, you are ball hogging. It doesn't matter if you end the possession with a shot or an assist, tbh.
I'll give you that Harden isn't as bad as Westbrook in that regard though.
A ballhog is defined as one who doesn't pass the ball.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ball%20hog
Wow 1 percent below average, which is pretty much at average :lol
No, you get MVP when your team can't score shit without you. When you have to lead in points rebounds AND assists. When you average close to a triple double all season while winning. All while not taking ganes off for rest. Homer glasses my ass. NBA voters already know. It ain't Kawhi's.
So now the criteria for MVP is who chucks more off the dribble 3s? :lmao
.
Still think LeBron isn't getting enough MVP love. He's been playing out of his mind since the new calendar year. Yeah yeah, voter fatigue...still seems weird how little discussion there's been about him.
Cavs aren't mediocre at all when LeBron is on the court, though :lol
Cavs with LeBron on: +9.0
Cavs with LeBron off: -8.1
Spurs with Kawhi on: +9.3
Spurs with Kawhi off: +8.4
Not sure how LeBron is supposed to elevate his team's play while he's sitting on the bench.
Oh and :lmao at Fkla pretending like the media cares about shooting percentage when Westbrook has been in the conversation all year shooting worse than Harden.
Harden is the worst clutch performer of all MVP candidates. :lol..His style of play in close games the single reason why I am skeptical of the Rockets postseasons chances..
I honestly believe that if a team ran a total gimmicky season where 4 other players just never touched the ball, and one player had all the stats, even if the team never won a game, that player would be heralded as a great player by some in the media and some faggots on this forum.
Not true. Ball hogs do pass to avoid a turnover. They are stat hogs, they will hog rebounds, assists and points. If the league started tracking between the leg dribbles, they'd be sure to count those as well in their repertoire. Anything to get numbers that fool casual fans and make talking points during contract negotiations.
the excuse for lebron is this, when they win games they say his the best
when they lose games? his coasting...should reward mvp for coasting?
Rose didn't deserve MVP that year. Only reason he got it was because of the Bulls record. So, in any case, Rose's example should help Kawhi's chances, who is a lot more deserving this year than Rose in '11, tbh.
Lou Williams should be MVP tbh. Him and Gordon are absoulte mosnters in the Houston System. Every Guard in that System is a nightmare.
If Kwa would have dunked that for the tie late vs Blazers that would have given him another point or two.
:lol I have again to see the ":cry but but all his shots are assisted :cry" as this is a bad thing or a proof of a player being less valuable than another... that's the worst take I have ever read in all those ST years and thats saying a lot...
:rolleyes my player is better because he does not catch and shoot, he creates his own 36% crap FG.... :lmao oh boy
I think Kwa anticipated that tall guy on Blazers Nukric was going to go up hard for the block.
Was kind of surprising Nukric did not go up as tall as he could.
I was surprised too.
Also, trail defender made really quick recovery and was siding Kwa.
Combo of two is why chose finger roll.
