My view was that he had a lot he needed to work on. He only played like a high pick if you don't care about winning basketball. From the time Murray was picked to now, my view on him as a prospect has remained consistent. My view on him as a player has become more favorable as he's played better.
Saying a guy has holes isn't dismissing him. It's just being honest. It's the same with Bertans. I've talked about his holes a lot. Yet I said just the other day that they are the best non-Kawhi the prospects the Spurs have had since Parker and have been projecting Murray into the rotation for next season since he was picked.

Clippers just lost after choking a big lead at home against the T-Wolves. Good news for the Spurs.

Or even 6th. They could beat Houston if healthy and be our matchup in the second round

H
He was pissed about a call on Bertans. Bert was called for 2 ticky tack fouls and Pop had enough.

Yep. Like I said, they would have had to pass on Kyle.
The thought of having him in the middle behind Tim for the last two seasons. Literally could have been a game-changer. There are late draft pick guys who do well, that nobody really sees coming. But Jokic isn't one of those. I was screaming for them to take him.
There were three players from Mega Leks in the draft this season, too. And I was really hoping the Spurs could have gotten one of them. I'm glad they got Kyle, but if I remember right, I think they could have gotten two of them with a purchased draft pick.

Don't keep us in suspense. Who were the other two Mega Leks players?

Ivica Zubac and Rade Zagorac. Both went in the second round. Timothe Luwawu went fairly late in the first round, but the other two could have been gotten to by the Spurs. Mega Leks has been turning out guys with really high-revving engines. Zubac is a legit 7-footer, and he's already got enough bulk to stand up to NBA bigs.
Zagorac is a tall SF, but the least NBA-ready of the three. Mostly needs more muscle, but he's a tough bastard. He broke his arm in the first game of the season last year, and finished the game anyway. He probably would have been a stash, especially since the Spurs don't really need another 3. Honestly, I thought Luwawu would have been a little better than he has been - but the Spurs would have had him in Austin, and much improved by now.
Zubac is the one I really wanted the Spurs to make a move for.

Too bad Zubac died during the summer league:

LOL. That's a poster dunk, for sure. I think Zubac survived, though. :tongue
Zubac would have been on cleanup duty this year - at least until Gasol broke his hand. But in a couple of years, I think people will regret not pulling the trigger on him in the second round. Big men usually take a few years to mature.

Raybies... that fan who likes to scout prospects (and church of Murray follower) liked Zubac a lot... one of his draft picks he regretted Spurs not getting. But he loves Murray so it's all good.. :-) But he was raving about Zubac over the summer.
