White House Fires Aide Who Contradicted Terms of Tillerson's Firing
— Two U.S. officials say the White House has fired one of Rex Tillerson’s top aides after he contradicted the official account of the secretary of state’s dismissal by President Donald Trump.
The officials said Steve Goldstein, the undersecretary of state for public diplomacy and public affairs, was informed of the move shortly after he released a statement in his name saying that Tillerson was “unaware of the reason” for his termination.
Goldstein had also told reporters that Tillerson learned of his firing Tuesday morning from Trump’s tweet announcing he was nominating CIA chief Mike Pompeo to lead the State Department.

WaPo reported back in july or august that trump wanted to can tillerson... looks like trump held out for a while to try to discredit the story. but this was inevitable
I was wrong. Hope Hicks was next.
Then there was this guy:
Longtime Trump aide fired over financial crime investigation
(CNN)President Donald Trump's longtime personal aide John McEntee was fired because he is currently under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security for serious financial crimes, a source familiar with his firing told CNN.
The charges are not related to the President, the source said.
Minutes after news of his departure broke, the Trump campaign announced McEntee would be joining the reelection effort as a senior adviser for campaign operations.
McEntee was escorted from the White House on Monday, three sources with knowledge of the matter told CNN. Two sources initially said McEntee was pushed out because of issues with his security clearance, but another source familiar with the matter later said he had been granted a permanent security clearance before was abruptly fired.
...
McEntee, who joined the Trump campaign in its first months, is the latest of the President's longest-serving aides to leave or announce plans to leave the White House, following the resignation of White House communications direct Hope Hicks two weeks earlier.

WAPO: Trash has decided to fire McMaster
To deflect from his shithole Presidency and from being shitted on by Mueller, Trash is preparing, with Israel and Saudi Arabia, to attack Iran.
“Part of the reason Keith Kellogg is in contention to be national security adviser is
because, in part,
the president ‘likes his company and thinks he is fun,'”
Maddow said, quoting Parker’s report.

Splits is okay to throw McCabe in this thread?
I have no opinion of McCabe whatsoever, but what a petty and dickish firing.
TSA approves, no surprise there.
I specifically said I have no opinion of him. I have not read this IG report. The fact that Horowitz was hired by Obama or that the Democrats called for the investigation is not relevant. Those are details that are only important to mindless scoreboarders like yourself.
The President you cheerlead for is a petty embarrassment who gloats on social media about people about to be fired and about people who are fired. This should trouble everyone.
But looking at that in isolation completely misses the big picture. The big picture is a tale of what can happen when law enforcement is politicized, public servants are attacked, and people who are supposed to cherish and protect our institutions become instruments for damaging those institutions and people.
Here is the reality: I am being singled out and treated this way because of the role I played, the actions I took, and the events I witnessed in the aftermath of the firing of James Comey. The release of this report was accelerated only after my testimony to the House Intelligence Committee revealed that I would corroborate former Director Comey's accounts of his discussions with the President. The OIG's focus on me and this report became a part of an unprecedented effort by the Administration, driven by the President himself, to remove me from my position, destroy my reputation, and possibly strip me of a pension that I worked 21 years to earn. The accelerated release of the report, and the punitive actions taken in response, make sense only when viewed through this lens. Thursday's comments from the White House are just the latest example of this.
Obstruction.

Justice.
Inexorable.
