The Spurs have done an incredible job of finding guys like Bruce Bowen and Danny Green. And they have been able to attract guys like Robert Horry and Steve Kerr late in their careers, because they offered them the best chance to win a ring. The FO did a great job, but ultimately all of that was possible because of Tim Duncan.
The Spurs have a great/smart ownership group, and they have put together a great management team. David Robinson's contributions and influence run through it all. But this is The House That Tim Built.
Yep.
And our guard play is still gonna get us 60 wins...
Incredible game management as well with Pop. He adapts to the talent level in an unprecedented way. The 99 Spurs to the 2014 Spurs.... Holy Moses.

Almost every team runs through i's cycles of good years followed by bad years where they have to reload through the draft. San Antonio has defied the odds. We as fans should feel pretty blessed. I have a son who's been around for 4 championships and never witnessed a Spurs losing season. Pretty remarkable stuff for a pro sports franchise.

I get that if we win a lot we don't get lottery picks, but still.
"But still"? But still what? The Spurs have three Top 20 draft picks on the roster. Denver has three Top 20 picks from this year alone, plus one from last year's draft. Phoenix had two this year, one last year, and two the year before that. That's what you can do when your team plays like shit.
The Spurs have had one in the last 20 years. That's what happens when your team is always good.
