Re: Pop's two major flaws this series
As I said above in my previous post - Why is he resting players in the playoffs? Why was he resting Kawhi for long stretches in last season's OKC series? You gotta play your best players big minutes in the playoffs, especially when your team is full of scrubs. When the Spurs won most of their Championships he played Tim Duncan big minutes - which was necessary for the spurs to win those rings IMO.
Right now, though, he needs to play Kawhi more minutes just to win games, but he continues to rest him for stretches that are still a little too long IMO. The reserves and his backups just aren't getting it done.

This man knows tbh. Game 5s are always Manu's games. Game 6s not that much.
Re: Pop's two major flaws this series
Manu is not for the world. He is crap
Re: Pop's two major flaws this series
Doc Rivers
Billy Donovan
Fizdale Thickrims
Can Pop complete the trifecta?
Lets hope for some TEAM ball.
Re: Pop's two major flaws this series
Pop rather win in his unconventional way, than to do the obvious... Wants it to appear to be because of his decisions... Sometimes the obvious is the obvious for a reason.
Re: Pop's two major flaws this series
1) Not true. He's been getting Aldridge out around the 4 minute mark of the 1st/3rd quarters and playing Leonard the entirety of them all series. Then, when the former comes back to start the 2nd/4th quarters, the latter goes out. Also, all bench isn't the same with the Spurs as most teams. They get better at center, oftentimes at point and shooting guard and sometimes power forward.
2) He's never going to totally faze out any of the big three, especially when the alternatives are as unappealing as Anderson/Simmons. Sure, they've outplayed Ginobili in this series, but that's more about his struggles than them playing particularly well and the previous 82 games worth indicate he's still better than both. He's handled this well though, by having him on a short leash and not just handing him 20 mpg.
Re: Pop's two major flaws this series
Popovich struck a philosophical tone when asked about Ginobili’s slump.
“Sometimes the ball goes in, sometimes it doesn’t,” the coach said.
