I thought this was easily the weakest of this trilogy. The deus ex machina ending was lame as hell. Still pretty good overall, though.

Re: War for the Planet of the Apes
i haven't seen it, only movie i've been able to make time for recently was homecoming... heard mixed reviews (from friends, critics seem to love it), but definitely want to check it out in a couple weeks

Never warmed up to this Apes thing. Which surprises me because I dig all the Kong movies.

I'm not usually a fan of it, but it worked in this instance. My only real gripe was the little girl just wandering into the base unseen. Still...that's just nitpicking. I loved it.

Re: War for the Planet of the Apes
Good movie, but I still like the second one a little more. This one for me is right in the middle of the 3.

Re: War for the Planet of the Apes
Yet another film for which Andy Serkis should receive an oscar nomination for best actor but won't. That guy can act circles around anybody in Hollywood.

Re: War for the Planet of the Apes
Anyone seen the original with Chuck Heston, Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter, Maurice Evans etc?
I watched the modern day one with Marky Mark and wtf, really? I mean due to the writing it was okay but the acting was beyond punk ass.
The ones after that seemed like it was just apes go on temper tantrum, blow shit up, repeat. I never watched a whole one.

You and your cousins wander into our country every second of the day. Why does that seem so unrealistic to you?

Still think the original was the best of the trilogy, with that said this was good.

Eh, same old. The more things change the more they stay the same. How about you?

Re: War for the Planet of the Apes
I find it weird that the little girl they adopted doesn't cry at all when they kill her dad, but the ape she met two days ago that gives her the doll dies and she is crying her face out.

Got divorced...staring down 40...you know, nothing impactful.:lol
Seriously though, I'm good. I feel like life is going to hit reset for me in my 40s. I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, I get it. I hit 40 in 6 months and find myself unemployed and job-searching once again. Sorry to hear about the divorce. That's always tough. Sounds like you're doing all right though; kudos to you!

Oh I'm not sorry at all.:lol I stayed way longer than I should've waiting for her to get her shit together. I've never been happier.
Hope you find yourself something soon. Now that I have nothing tying me here(daughter graduated this year) I'm probably heading down to the Austin area when my lease is up. I have a sister that lives in Salado and a cousin in New Braunfels, so I've got some family down there. Ready to get the fuck out of East Texas.
