he said not blank check they will start paying
If you hate him, you probably hated the speech. If you're a fanboy, like ducks and Thread, you probably loved it. I dint watch it.
tried to unite the country
Stopping Islamic terror was a campaign promise :tu
"Tonight the president in his remarks saying that he shares Americans’ frustration with the length of the war.
He said his original instinct was to pull out.
But he now wanted to spend this evening talking about what he views as the unacceptable consequences of a withdrawal.
He drew as a parallel, as an analogy, the Iraq war,
calling President Obama’s decision to wind down the Iraq war, at least for a time, he called that a hasty decision and a mistaken decision. :lol
Should be noted that when President Obama made that decision,
Donald Trump – then a private citizen – not only
supported President Obama’s decision to end the Iraq war when he did,
but he said that President Obama should have ended it years earlier.
CNBC, in August 2011, Trump was asked about the decision to end the war in Iraq and he said,
“Well, I think he could have gotten out a long time ago.” :lol
That said tonight, President Trump describing that decision to withdraw from Iraq as hasty and mistaken,
saying he’s not going to make that mistake again in Afghanistan."

With Bannon back in charge, Breitbart is crushing Trump for his Afghanistan speech
Article 1: The speech was a disappointment to many who had supported his calls during the campaign to end expensive foreign intervention and nation-building.
Article 2: Using many of the same vague promises that previous presidents had used, including a repeat of Obama’s promise not to give a “blank check” to Afghanistan and a pledge to finally get tough on Pakistan, it was a far cry from the “America First” foreign policy he laid out in the months before Election Day.
Article 3: This isn’t about changing his perspective on the war. POTUS is a remarkably astute and stubborn individual. This was about the swamp getting to him.
Article 4: I voted for Donald Trump because he promised change. I may :lol have made a mistake.
Article 5: In Donald Trump’s old gambling houses, no player doubled down on a six. In Donald Trump’s White House, the president looks to double down on his soft hand in Afghanistan. That’s a bad bet

trump's FP will get the least amount of resistance from the democrats as they signed off on war mongering years ago. and the media would rather stir up tensions with russia. it'd also be great if this country was half as concerned with wars as it is with statues.
Wall Street loves war.
Big nothing burger.
More blathering about "winning" with no specifics, exactly every other promise he has ever made.
His presidency is essentially Trump University for the country.
Why should anyone really be worked up about a lying liar lying some more about something he knows nothing about, and can't, or won't do anything significant?
BS. The war in Afghanistan will never end as long as opium is produced. Since the US invasion 15 years ago, opium production has increased 30X in Afghanistan - with the Taliban and US-backed forces vying for control of the product. It's manifesting itself in the heroin epidemic and opioid abuse in America. It's a nice closed loop with the weapons manufacturers, the pharma firms and the banks all making money at the expense of US soldiers, Afghan civilians and US addicts.
But by all means feel free to believe that Trump is going to deliver on this - just like he delivered on healthcare, the national debt, America's trade deficit, China's currency manipulation, the Middle East, Chicago's murder rate and locking up Hillary.
