Another quality group for midget to pad his stats.
Looking forward to see if midget will finally be able to score vs Juventus after failing to do so in 180 minutes.

group G was funny, a pretty balanced group where everybody had hope for a weak 4th pot and then they draw Leipzig, the faces where funny as hell :lmao
celtic and anderlecht in group B, might as well play the knockout games for EL right now :lol
barcelona is in an underrated tough group, juventus are juventus and both olympiakos and sporting have strong home courts tbh ..
overall beautiful groups, the new rules :toast

just shows you the quality of the competition tbh, just too much unregulated money in UCL, and the result is 4-5 teams siphoning all the talent, leaving people to ignore the rest of the game just to talk who between missi and penaldo likes little boys best. The last bastion of competitive football is still in the NT competitions imo. Great games to be had in the UCL but they should impose some financial/national restrictions tbh.

Understood.
I think the Bundesliga has done a decent job but I know that Bayern M dominating, and now the Red Bull Company team bring it in to question.

That was a weird game.
Any game with Klopp miked up is great.
He was asking the ref at the end of the game "what have I done to deserve this? How have I upset you? I have never done anything wrong, why do you do this to us?"
Klopp is the best thing to happen to Liverpool IMO.

No Naldo, Real goes back home with a draw. Stay salty.
Ronaldo's position in the 2nd goal is debatable, besides he was sprinting, difficult to judge.
Midget is the one growing roots inside the box and getting gifts from the refs per par.

Except Messi has had more goals from outside the box than tapnaldo this season already, hell he's almost outscored the entire Madrid team by himself this season :lmao

He did play well vs Dortmund but Bale was MOTM.

I said that on the offseason and Madrid fans laughed at me. Ronaldo has little relevance on the level of the team, he is just a poacher. You can find other poachers, granted none as good as him. But I would sell a 33 yearold poacher for 300 millions, get the second best poacher in the World and a true difference making playmaker.
And I want to go on record that I'm writing this just after Poachnaldo's goal, tbh.

Re: The Official 2017-18 UEFA Champions League Thread
While it seems like a year in which a CL outsider might break through( mainly City and PSG..), the tournament isn't won by peaking in November during the group stages. We have seen this movie before where a bunch of 18 out of 18 pts/+20 GoalDiff teams losing steam by the time March rolls on and get upset (in particular PSG who seems ready for another epic choke given their cancerous lockeroom :lol)..
Don't think Real will Threepeat but they won't play this awful. Bayern have started to turn it around with Heynkess back in charge.. Barca are mostly fine but could have another gear in them..The usual suspects, beside close-but-no-cigar Atletico who are done for real, should not be written off just yet..
-
Re: The Official 2017-18 UEFA Champions League Thread
Tottenham broke their losing streak today.
3-2 loss to West Ham
1-0 loss to Man U.
They are thinking this win might get them back on track for a strong domestic finish. And they had been having problems at Wembley. We will see if this group play gets them out of their slump. Probably not. Lost their best defender in the 1st half. Lloris may also be injured.

That does not count in the EPL.

And I actually agree with you.
But Chelsea and Arsenal fans are used to stomping on Spurs, so there you have it.

Have trouble with Arsenal yet again, and beat Dortmund away.
Still gonna be a fight to keep in the top 4 in the EPL while easily winning the group in Champions league.
Go figure. Tough to compete regularly with the big $ teams.
-
Re: The Official 2017-18 UEFA Champions League Thread
All the promoted teams are on solid footing so far.
I am especially surprised Brighton is playing so strong. Already 5 managerial changes. Pulis goes down very early.
Arsenal can still compete when they feel like it. Ozil and Sanchez both had excellent games at the same time in squashing Tottenham. The top 6 teams are going to have to share the new TV contract money. Money continues to pour in.
And there you have it.

Bayern got the most favorable match-up for the 2nd placed teams and Madrid got the worst (at least on paper)
PSG blew their load in November and their defense is vulnerable. If RM catches some form in the next couple of months I wouldn't be shocked to see them humiliate those pretenders yet again. The key is not to concede goals in the first leg and then allow PSG to self destruct with their mental demons and toxic locker room. That team is still very fragile, tbh.
Think Barca will comfortably roll Chelsea. The other low-key ties could be more interesting..
I agree with the major betting odds that now have City as title favorites; overall, they've been the best and most consistent team in the continent the season. Draw-permitting, they will probably have to face one of RM/Barca/Bayern in the Final and those could still prove too experienced for them on the occasion..

Barca really struggles with Chelsea playstyle. Teams that play 4-3-3 in general struggle against teams that pack the back and hold possession. Chelsea might not be consistent enough this year, but in an away and home leg its a nightmare to play against these teams.
PSG vs Real is an almost finals matchup. In most days id pick real because PSG is so mentally questionable but real has really struggled.
We might end up with a surprise winner this year, imo.

Also, PSG needs to invest more on Holding midfieders.
They tend to play straigtforward with their three strikers, but part of the reason why theyr are so vurneable in the defensive end is because of a lack of quality in the middle.
They need holding midfielders that can fill in the gaps defensively, prevent counterattacks...Almost all their midfielders are offensively focused players.

Real isn't exactly clicking on all cylinders and Tapnaldo is apparently unhappy. It's a soccer rumor and soccer rumors have a tendency to be some of the most unfounded, TMZ level gossip on the planet so take it with a grain of salt.
