In this, I agree with Dabom. Plenty of shticks he keeps going on, but this one is the truth.
You can't fully judge the team without their best player and other valuable roleplayers. It's time to just see what the young guys worked over the summer and recognize the team isn't whole. Hopefully guys will bounce back too (referring to the guys who shot poorly or had poor games in this one.)

I admire OP defending his team against the troll-sharks who are happy there's blood in the water. True fandom there. :toast:flag:

Didn't mean to throw Kyle under the bus. I'll drop the kyle naming just cause you recognized the post. :tu

Also doesn't hurt that what I say is actually true. :lol

Re: You don't judge a team when players are out, you judge when the full team is play
I remember through the years, many a time when TD or Parker was injured or all of them sat and the bench would win some pretty gritty games. A loss is a loss. Especially 3 straight. 3 straight sucks no matter what your personnel looks like. I see what you're trying to say, but aside from BP3's 18 pointer, there's not really a bright spot here.

It was his worst game of the season tbh. He seemed out of his depth at times... But obviously it's a team sport. If he was the only one out of his depth it would have been easily solved. But it wasn't. Dijon also TO the ball way too much and missed his share of shots... Both guys with Kawhi and Tony healthy can go back to just playing minutes when they are helping and if they are having a rough night they don't play or get their minutes cut. BP3 played well and gave a spark, that was a bright spot.
Joff was also missed perhaps. I thought even in a loss I saw some good things.
Guys are missing the fact that Kawhi is an MVP who produces 25+ points a night plus some stout defense. Him alone might have dominated that team frankly. Cant wait for the Klaw's return.

I tend to agree with hater on this one.

Re: You don't judge a team when players are out, you judge when the full team is play
It is what it is. A 4 - 0 was start was probably better than expected. The last 3 the opposite end. The guys are feeling weight on their shoulders. Everyone will probably breathe a sigh of relief and play a little better when Kawhi returns.
Patty sucks. Pau is old. Murray is still green but hopefully keeps developing.
Paul and Gay are bright spots right now.
They will figure it out.

All the old timers agree with me brah. There's a lot of them, they just ain't voicing their opinion right now.
...and also I have a penchant for being right. It's not a time to panic right now, that would be the worst move.

Re: You don't judge a team when players are out, you judge when the full team is play
Wait wait wait ... I thought the spurs were successful because of the system! and culture! Can’t have it both ways. Either talent matters and trash like pube-head and Pau are dead weight. Or system uber alles, and these losses are inexcusable

here in ST, they judge a team based on emotion. they judge teams in the summer. they judge a team by games in October, pre-season, summer league and pick-up games at the Y. this is the site where you can go from being a title contender to a lottery contender in the span of four days just two weeks into a season.

Murray should be the last person getting benched with the way Fatty is playing, tbh

I kind of agree too. People need to open their eyes and realize that this team outside of Kawhi just isn't that good. Kawhi might take them a fair way, but even Michael Jordan got bounced in the playoffs numerous times when he had shit talent around him.
Doesn't matter how great an individual is when the rest of the team is mediocre. Gay and Paul are the only two players I like on the team besides Kawhi.
LMA is horrible after the first 3 quarters. He can't score with any reliability in crunch time, misses free throws, make poor passes out of double teams, yeah, he's not a last 6-10 minutes of the game and OT type of player.

Have a look at Michael Jordan, have a look at what he did with mediocre talent around him. You can be the best player in the world and still get bounced in the first round if you don't have a decent team around you. The west is more loaded this year, in most other years, I'd say Kawhi by himself can get the Spurs out of the first round, but with the wrong match-up and a poor or average showing from his teammates, the Spurs can lose in the first round this season. Hopefully, I'm wrong on that.
Kawhi is great, but IMO I think he's going to have to do too much for this team to have a chance at a title. Again, hopefully, I'm completely wrong.
