"Killa" Kyrie without LeGOAT or Stevens holding his hand:
21-45, no playoffs
24-58, no playoffs
33-49, no playoffs
And spare me the "he was young on a bad team" excuse. Donovan Mitchell and Ben Simmons are rookies and they both have their teams in the second round, when they were expected to miss the playoffs.

"excuse" that's a faggy way to say reason.
Mitchell is as old as Killa Kyrie was his 3rd year and joined a team that won 50+ games without him the year before tbh :lol
And Ben simmon turn 22 this year the same age Kyrie was when LeGOAT join and they made the finals :tu
Kyrie joined a team the previous year with record at the time for most consecutive losses and coached by Byron Scott :lmao

LeBron haters hold it against LeBron that he missed the playoffs his first two seasons, and he went straight from high school to a garbage team. Why does Kyrie get a pass? If he was too young to win, he should have stayed at Duke.
The Jazz lost Hayward and Hill in the offseason and then bought out Joe Johnson early on in the season. That's a big chunk of their offense from last year gone, and they were expected to be completely anemic on offense and struggle to win games. Mitchell made sure that didn't happen.

Kobetards love Kyrie because he's a Kobetard himself. And he's also a selfish me-first chucker, just like his idol.
He also gets overrated as part of LeBron haters' agenda, just like everyone else LeBron has ever played with in his career. (And I'm not even exaggerating - I've seen people try to argue that the scrubs he was carrying in 2007 were actually good.)

The Celtics are one of the league's marquee franchises. And no matter what, one of Silver's two favorite teams right now will be representing the West. Non-issue.

The main difference is the Celtics having Tatum this year, plus Scary Terry playing instead of no-defense chuckers like Isaiah or "Killa" Kyrie.

I would say almost any NBA guard duo would have been an improvement.
Except Paddy and Parker.

Re: Lebron is missing Kyrie more than he’s letting on...
The entire premise that Boston doing fine without Kyrie thus saying Kyrie wasn't important to the Cavs is flawed.
1) Kyrie offers a very specific skill set, he creates shots, he scores at a relatively efficient rate for a chucker, and he is clutch. He offers something that compliments Lebron very well on offense. Yes, he is a sieve on defense but strong defense is not what the Cavs require at that position, that's not his role. However, strong defense at every position is what the Celtics need though. Additionally, the Celtics want to have a more free flowing offense. Kyrie dribbles the ball, a lot. To be honest, I am not sure if Kyrie getting hurt actually helps Boston.
2) While I am not sure if Kyrie getting hurt actually helps Boston, there is also the chance that Boston could have done even better with Kyrie. This is a strawman. Boston didn't win 82 and 16, so yes, they can improve. What is to say that Boston won't be dominating like the Warriors if Kyrie was there and fully integrated in Boston?

great points,
Celts not missing Kyrie and LeBron missing his shot making and
finishing are NOT mutually exclusive.
-
Re: Lebron is missing Kyrie more than he’s letting on...
Wally Pipp argument. If Drew Bledsoe gets injured and Tom Brady is his back-up, the team is obviously not going to miss Bledsoe too much. Rozier putting up great performances allows the Celtics to not miss Kyrie’s production too much. And he didn’t even need to replace Kyrie’s production exactly. The Celtics have two top three picks that also helped pick up the slack, as well as quality depth from several other players. What Rozier has done simply makes things much easier for everyone else to not have to do too much.
-
Re: Lebron is missing Kyrie more than he’s letting on...
it will be interesting how brad will balance that roster next year. id imagine kyrie would still feed first but do you really want him to considering how good the roster is.
tbh, im actually more interested in how hayward would fit. it seems like he’s that one guy that would flourish under stevens.

Agree. Hayward’s skills are dime a dozen. Players with clutch DNA’s are harder to find. You need a “killa” like Kyrie in crunch time.
I’d stand pat though if I’m Ainge, see how far this unit does when healthy.
-
Re: Lebron is missing Kyrie more than he’s letting on...
yes.. he is definitely missing a consistent scorer like kyrie who could create his own shot and put up 30 or more points and make clutch shots...

Re: Lebron is missing Kyrie more than he’s letting on...
Boston is scary if they can keep this core together.. Someone will have to make sacrifices though.
