Re: Game Thread: Spurs vs Grizzlies -- Fri. (12/1) - 7:00/C (3:00am Riga Time)
Lauvergne is going to play. Just gotta get used to seeing him out there and get back in the swing of things. To go thru camp, play well early on, then be injured wasn't ideal. He'll need more time to get acclimated. We know bigs usually take longer in our system, this isnt new
But with our Frontline, he's going to see some time. Just the reality at this time.

King Joffrey has turned into Court Jester Joffrey.

He's a +5 in that lineup thanks to a HORSE 3 from Nashville from Manu and some LTrain ... he was horrible the entire time.

Spurs shat the bed there at the end of the half. Too many mistakes at the end of defensive possessions let Memphis claw within single digits again.

Joffrey is looking like Ayres out there.

Good sign that the athleticism is still there. Only going to get better as season progresses.

That is the player that Pop has molded. I haven't checked, but if you were to graph Kawhi's usage it would show a fairly steady increase for his first 3 seasons and rising steeply since then. I am not sure when Pop first envisioned Kawhi as a Kobe-type player, but that vision has guided Pop for the last 3+ seasons. Maybe the fact that he never has had such a player is what has driven Pop to mold both player and team to fit that image.

Memphis' defensive intensity really picked up, too. Much higher defensive intensity than Wednesday. They didn't sustain it for very long, but it was very good for a spurt.

Shocked that Tyreke played 14 minutes and has zero shot attempts.

Funny, but sadly true. He will probably be jettisoned for some burned-out mid-season buyout or waiver victim.

Until he announced his retirement, I kind of thought Joff might get axed in order to bring back Lee.
