Why wasn't TD in Game6? Exactly.

Fuck man, we play the Kangs tomorrow. We should have rested guys in that game.

Agreed. Every time Houston loses I get excited, then Spurs lose the next night. :bang Like trying to lay that stripper at the club, all tease, no result.

LMA choked on a fat one in crunch time. Shocker.

This.
[Armchair Coach Pop]
Lineup is LMA, Pau, Kyle as inbounder, Mills, Manu. Manu at the top, Mills flashes to the close corner, Kyle passes to whoever is open. Pau/LMA stay on the blocks/high post to draw in defenders. Option to lob if they don't. If not, LMA at the top of the key/Manu 2 man game with option to shoot or pass to Mills who sits in the corner to tee up a wide open 3.

Yep. It depends on the first round match-up. There's a few teams that can eliminate the Spurs in the first round. Fucking terrible team they've constructed. One that will do poorly in the playoffs. Can squeak out some wins in the regular season, but in the playoffs they will get exposed badly. Very well may not make it out of the first round.
Fucking terrible. I'd rather get a lottery pick than end up exiting in the first round like the 2015 playoffs.
LA should have been there to rebound, not fucking taking the shot. There was a high chance he could have gotten a rebound off of a miss and get a put-back or foul drawn to win the game. I always prefer or guard or SF having the ball to play-make or take a shot to win the game. The bigs should be there for rebounds in case of a miss. Unless you're a super clutch big like Dirk, or even TD (although not as good of a shooter as Dirk, TD was still one of the best clutch big men of all time), I wouldn't give most bigs the ball in that situation.

Because he couldn't defend on the perimeter. Benching him made plenty of sense. People are just pissed because the Heat scored, but Pop had benched Duncan in similar situations with success previously (like the semis against Golden State that same year).

Re: Game Thread: Spurs @ Blazers -- Sun. (1/7) - 8:00/C (4:00am Riga Time)
Well I guess thanks to Manu we’ve won our share of close ones. LA was our top scorer and took a terrible shot. Tomorrow will be rough without Manu’s energy and confidence.

lol, 525 posts, probably every single one after a good Manu game, doesn't actually care about the Spurs, typical Manu fan
sad thing is that I'm amazed and ecstatic at what Manu has been able to accomplish this year at 40, but idiot Manu fans have to come along and ruin it

Re: Game Thread: Spurs @ Blazers -- Sun. (1/7) - 8:00/C (4:00am Riga Time)
Could have used clutch ass Gay in that situation. Dudes straight money with the game on the line.

I think it's on Pop to know Lamarcus is not going to drive the ball in 4 seconds from 20 feet out. If he wanted that, he needed to call the play for Manu...

Good thing there's another "winnable" game tomorrow... that the Spurs might lose.

Truth. That's why you had all those shooters outside to open the lane. Why take a contested jumper?

He still did better in the last 5 minutes of the game than LA. LA is a no-show when you ask him to carry a team in crunch time.
I can't watch that shit choke it up after watching TD all these years. TD was one of the best clutch big men of all time.
As great as Shaq, Wilt, Hakeem, D-Rob and all those guys were, they sucked in crunch time. TD was better than all of them with the game on the line.

Re: Game Thread: Spurs @ Blazers -- Sun. (1/7) - 8:00/C (4:00am Riga Time)
I would be more concerned if we were this mediocre with a full roster or minus just one major rotation player. However when you are down 4 due to injuries, and CIA Pop moves, you have to not care too much about playoff positioning if the powers that be, don't.

Well, I mean 100 percent Kawhi is optimal or even Green compared to Gay on defense. My point is we just needed a wing player with some length tonight. Those passing/driving lanes were just way too big for Portland tonight.
This is why I say if Gay just focuses on defense and doesn't force his offense, he'll be a great fit.
