Let’s keep telling ourselves that everytime that we lose a prospect to a regional recruiting rival.

Like I pointed out already, 20 of the top 40 guys on the 247 Texas top 100 are either WR or DBs. Right now the one thing this state is producing are guys at those positions. I hate losing top guys to anyone, but there are a lot out there and since recruiting is at best a crap shoot, I just don't lose sleep over it.
Right now Texas is it's own worse enemy because we have no track record of winning over the last 9 years, we get back to winning and all this is fixed.
Here is what Texas needs to do
1. Out perform ags on the field, we just need to look like the better team.
2. Beat Oklahoma, when it comes to the Red River it's time to put up or shut up.
3. Win 10 games minimum, Tom Herman needs to prove he is the man
I look at this roster and to me it looks pretty stacked, weak link is as always the offensive line, if they can perform then I think Texas will be hell on wheels, if they suck as they have over the last 9 seasons then it's same shit different year.

i agree about texas just needing to win to start getting the upper hand over both OU and a&m in terms of recruiting because texas will always have the advantage of being located in austin, tradition and brand name in its favor. the problem is that those things in of themselves aren't all that matters anymore. so, if herman can get the horns back to being in the mix (at least for a conference title) that would be a big advantage.
Right now it's too easy to negative recruit against Texas. And it's mostly legit. Too much talent has come to Texas and didn't do jack, too much poor football is being played in Austin. That is exactly what Wilson said, when he committed to Ohio State. Now I know he was just doing his pitch to other Texas guys to follow him to Columbus, but the facts don't change.
The Ags are doing well because they are selling a championship level coach who as of right now is undefeated in College station, they are pimping the SEC and those things are selling.
I am confident, the ags are going to start off 2-2, most feel that way, but if they are, then I am curious to see if anyone has second thoughts about going there. I"m pretty sure most won't but they have a full class already and the hard part is keeping all those guys.
What happens in College Station won't make a bit of difference if Texas can't start winning, If Texas wants back on top they have to worry about want they are doing and nothing more.
