I can forgive the rebound bc Davis is a fricking monster rebounder and he has very long arms. I thought it could have been better but at the same time, when you have guys like that you need a real big... That is the kind of thing where not having your best bigs hurt you and sometimes it can't be helped... there were many other things that didn't involve LMA and/or Pau missing from the game, and were within the team's control.

If you shut down LMA, you want to keep Kawhi on the shelf, too, and get the best draft pick you possibly can. Late as it is, tanking is the best option now. Pop will never go for it, though.

Rudy looked really good. He started off slow as in off, but really picked it up later.
Dejounte also looked really really good for most of the game, until the end when he was failing to slow down the pace and didn't really run plays, a bit westbrookish if you ask me. Overall a lot more positive than negative from him.
I thought it was actually a silver lining in this game that Rudy and Dijon had opportunities to really take many possessions and get it going.

Nope, I'm disgusted with Kawhi. If he's been cleared all season like I just read in another thread, then no fucking way should he be getting any more games off. He should be out there, and if the Spurs don't make the playoffs with him out there, then he should get some of the blame for it.
Sitting out a whole fucking year and a half with a quad injury. What a fucking joke that would be.

If the team gets a better pick, that's what counts to me.

Re: GT Pelicans @ Spurs: Wednesday 7:30 PM CST, 2/28/2018
Also, if he has been medically cleared the whole season, I WOULD NOT pay the Supermax to someone that is willing to sit out the whole year with an injury that isn't considered a major one.

Re: GT Pelicans @ Spurs: Wednesday 7:30 PM CST, 2/28/2018
Like Calvin says, kawhi's part of the new NBA player where it's all about them. He ain't any of the big three. So poop better adjust to the times or it's gonna get ugly for years to come if he chooses to continue his my way or the hwy stubborn ways.

I think when you realize how far is the team from true contention, you just become sort of numb to the L word every sport fan hates. This is the least stress I have felt as Spurfan since 2011.

:toast If we are gonna be also-ran chokers, I really would like us to do it under somebody's regime other than Pop's.

I am not disgusted with him. And I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt about his injury since I have no knowledge of the situation. But I am disappointed in him for offering his legion of fans nothing but silence. The guy's livelihood depends on fans, and he is one of the most popular individual players in the league. If he hasn't been communicating behind the scenes with PATFO (and I strongly doubt he has), I would be doubly disappointed. The Spurs have always done right by him.

I had forgotten about dabom. Of course he got cocky and got Lamarcus injured plus a loss.

If you mean the Jason Garrett comments on ESPN then I’d say consider the source. Kawhi has not been able to play all season and just sitting out for the hell of it. Jarrett is a football guy and everything he said is speculative.

Re: GT Pelicans @ Spurs: Wednesday 7:30 PM CST, 2/28/2018
Its true that the circumstances we very tough since the team doesn’t have any real bigs after LMA and Pau both out to close the game. Rudy really battled. But it also is a cop out way to cut slack for all the mistakes to close out the game specially when Messina went to Pops veterans.

There were bad missteps, but they played hard extremely shorthanded. No bigs, no rim protection, and no boards when it mattered. I think we can turn this around and do alright in the remainder of the RS.

I will admit to you I am disheartened and in a funk.
It’s not all on the players. PATFO has dropped the ball. The roster construction has been dubious. They have needed a better big than Joff has been which is why he didn’t play that many minutes in a game like this to begin with and hasn’t been good most of the year. He has only lately been playing better and yet without fail big minutes for Joff have resulted in losses almost each and every game that I can recall. There’s not a single game he has played many minutes in that the team has won. The King of empty stats.
What has me in a funk is also Lamarcus getting injured.
It’s just not their year... It sucks though and I hate it. I don’t care at all about the 50 win season considering circumstances but I want them to make the playoffs still. I just hate losing to this degree, specially playing Paddy 37 minutes or so. At this rate if the team is going to be losing call up Derrick White instead. Probably too worn out by this season’s Kiwi drama and Paddy’s 4th Q meltdowns.

It’s been tough no doubt! Let’s just hope that a couple days rest will get us back at least one of our bigs and LMA’s MRI doesn’t show anything too bad. I still have hope of us having 15 or so games with our entire team, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it.

Thanks for the update.:toast
Calling DJ "Westbrookish" (or should it be Westbrookian? :lol) seems apt. Let us hope he develops into a more cerebral under control version of RW.

Wait what??? How the FUCK does LMA deserve it over Kawhi??? Wtf has he done for us but bitch about touches?? The dude is guaranteed to pussy out in the playoffs... You idiots talk about Kawhi being a pussy for not playing through injury but said he shouldn't have played on his ankle when he was beasting through a sprained ankle, until he got Zaza'd

Nah. I get Davis is a monster, but both guys just watched the ball instead of boxing him out. That's basketball 101. Get a body into the guy next to you and push him away from the basket. When there's 2 guys vs 1, both of whom have some height, it's inexcusable.
It's the whole reason they had 2 guys on the line next to AD, but neither boxed him out and instead focused on the ball

I saw Joff put a body on him, but Davis still squirreled out. It's not just how strong and tall with long reach he is, he's also very quick. Stuff like that I expect from him. Ohter things in this game though didn't depend on Davis making a heroic play.
Kyle focused on the ball bc he was going for the board if DAvis had been contained sufficiently. He wasn't. The guy that had to do the bulk of the blocking out was Joff and he didn't do it properly... but again, that play isn't surprising bc Davis is immensely talented.

There is a reason two people are on ADs side. Both are supposed to box out. Fathead forgot he was a basketball player. :lol

Re: GT Pelicans @ Spurs: Wednesday 7:30 PM CST, 2/28/2018
Totally pissed this game away with the lousy perimeter defense, the careless turnovers and the failure to rebound in the fourth quarter.
Classic Pop trying to light a fire under his team by being thrown out, backfired badly.
