Actually the players' contracts already mandate that they'll play if cleared by the team physician. There's also a league injury review board to settle these matters. Kawhi breached his contract last season. The Spurs were as cool about it as you could expect. That the Spurs are also being shit on by Uncle Dumbass and the Asswipe Crew is a total joke.

They've done nothing but try to placate Kawhi. Obviously suing him would have nuked the relationship. But it's still on the table. The PR would be terrible though.

The Spurs cant sue Leonard because they misdiagnosed him.

He has been healthy sinxe feb though but suing your superstar because he was angry for misdiagnosing his injury is making yourself a villain in the eyes of all nba players.

I don't really doubt he wants the best for Kawhi, although I think there's a lot of what's best for Dennis at play as well.

The thing that's easy to hate is that he's an amateur and a moron who's actually harming his nephew financially and reputationally.

Leonard flamed out in both 2015 and 2016. There was no carrying done by him in those playoff meltdowns vs clippers and OKC. He was absolutely great in the 2016-2017 season including and up to Memphis in the first round.

Then the Spurs went into Houston in game six without Leonard and proceeded to demolish Harden by 40 points on the back of Lamarcus Aldridge, the same player who played through a freakin heart condition just a month earlier. (Not to mention it was the Great Manu Ginobili who led the close out in game five).

Leonard is(was?) a great player but inspecting his playoff performances closely in 2015 and 2016 reveals huge lack of difference making capability. He was not carrying anyone in either one of those.

It's about money. That's it. They're butt hurt because he hasn't been offered the $219 million they feel he deserves. They are doing everything they can to make it look like it's the Spurs fault as to why he wants to leave.

The Spurs don't want to offer that kind of money to someone who sat out basically a whole season due to a. "injury" and someone who created all this drama.
