It's a combination of market size and speculation and hype. They are getting these games mainly because a lot of people believe the Raptors will get out of the East with the addition of Kawhi. I remember many years ago the Magic got a ton of games based off of the hype of Tmac/Grant Hill.
Re: 2018-19 Spurs Schedule Released
Didn't they open at home against T-Wolves last year also?

Spur fan overly focused on "stars" ... the irony.
We will make playoffs and win a round.
You willing to bet avatar signature or ELE on it?
Lakers will advance as far or further than the Spurs?

I got them finishing 9th winning around 40 games. After missing the playoffs for 5 seasons, I can see why your expectations are so low.

Cross your fingers to avoid James being injured. Without him, who is going to lead that group? Even with him in the locker room, Lakers season is a huge question mark at the moment. LeBron couldn't keep together Cleveland's locker room... now in Los Angeles he has more difficult personalities to deal with. He can ask to change the roster in February, but he can't coast half the season, in the Western Conference that would cost him the season.

Winning a round and finishing among the 4 teams left is fair... I think Spurs will have more wins than Lakers but Lakers will be better come playoffs... But we will see.
And yes I'm counting on a healthy Bron he has rarely ever been hurt and no major injuries. But also counting on leaps from Kuzma and Ingram.

No major businesses in San Antonio and a dead downtown.

And #2 (LA), #3 (Inland Empire), and #17 (SD) are all in SoCal, and are all Lakers fans. That’s why they get 43 national games.

Not to mention Austin at 31. Combined the two are bigger than Phoenix / Scottsdale. Understandably there are plenty of non-Spurs fans there.
But is local population even a good barometer for who should get national TV games? They can just watch locally (though there have been big issues with the Dodgers a few years back and Knicks during Linsanity where huge swaths of the population lacked access). Fan base nationally is a much bigger driver.
Spurs are 8th in Facebook rankings, though basically tied with 7th place OKC and behind Cleveland/Miami who both lack Lebron now, and 5th in Twitter followers. Much larger overall following.

Lebron is a huge reason to why the Lakers got all those games. Look at the Knicks they are in the biggest market in the US but still only got 5 national games. Lakers the last 2 years have gotten a lot of national games off of bs hype. Last year it was because of Lavar hyping Lonzo. This year it's because of Lebron.

That was when he was playing for legacy, now he's playing for other shit, so i expect him to go down, which gives him an excuse to ride out the season on the bench since he hopes to get Kiwi and the Warriors break up.

I would like to see silence, complete silence when Kawhi hits the floor.
Silence seems somehow appropriate for this guy (booing is respect he doesn't deserve).

These are very interesting stats about the Spurs popularity digitally. Disney was told that they had to sell off the regional sports networks it bought in the Fox merger to get government approval. ESPN won't have control of them. What if a Amazon, Hulu, Netflix buys Fox Sports Southwest? The teams apart of that network would be a huge opportunity to promote for digital viewers.
