**2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Kicking it off...
Who to start week 1, in 0.5 ppr league
Josh Gordon vs Pittsburgh
Marquise Goodwin vs Minnesota
Obviously like Gordon overall more, but dno if he’s in the full swing of things yet... but Goodwin up against better defense.
My opponent is starting Jimmy G so i see Goodwin was a potential way to mitigate his scoring
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
I’d like to see Gordon’s snap count for the first couple of games before throwing him in the starting lineup. Goodwin is the safer play, especially since you’re facing Jimmy G.
Here’s mine:
Should I start Robert Woods at Oakland or Marvin Jones vs. Jets?
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
i dont think those 2 are in the same tier... see no reason not to start jones. Just the better player.
I’ll pose another one. Adrian Peterson vs Arizona or Chris Carson vs Denver (still half ppr). I’m leaning Carson of course.
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Yeah. Go with the fresh legs. AP will probably get 15 or less carries per game with Chris Thompson getting just as many. Plus AP is useless in receptions/yards out of the backfield.
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
id go with gordon, who they gonna play over him callaway? lol come on. division game too.
ive invested a lot of capital in rashaad penny. hoping carson sucks but id choose carson this week over AP.
need one in the flex. Dion Lews/Alf Morris or Mike Williams. ppr

PPR...I'd probably go Lewis. Would like to see some games with Williams to see what his usage is. Gates will steal a few of his TDs.
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Marshon or James Conner?
wait and see?
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
also gotta pick one from Tarik, Montgomery, and Coleman.
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Agree with Lewis over Morris/Williams in ppr. Want to see how morris/breida distribute touches before leaning there, and Williams is a complete unknown in an offense feeding Allen and Gordon primarily with Gates siphoning touchdowns.
Marshawn vs Conner is tough. Raiders going up against tough rams D on the road. Could be a game they abandon the run if rams pull ahead. Conner is getting every down duties and is up against Cleveland. Go Conner.
Lastly, tevin Coleman is the easy pick.
-

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
(barring miracle of unheard of proportions), lost this week because i got a combined 0 points from my starting WR's... doug baldwin and marquise goodwin both left their respective games with injury. had josh gordon on my bench and he did catch a TD. also started chris carson over adrian peterson, which didnt go well. and then njoku faceplanted with a 3pt performance, and got only 3 points from boswell
blegh

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Not bad for a mostly auto-drafted team (Melvin Gordon was my keeper, FA pickups in red):
QB: Jared Goff
RB1: Melvin Gordon
RB2: David Johnson
WR1: Stefon Diggs
WR2: Demaryius Thomas
TE: Delanie Walker
Flex: Chris Thompson
IDP: Adoree' Jackson
D/ST: Jacksonville Jaguars
K: Harrison Butker
BN: Mark Ingram (SSPD)
BN: Will Fuller
BN: Tyler Eifert
BN: Dak Prescott (yikes)
BN: Ryan Griffin
IR: Carson Wentz

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
just got offered Fournette and Brandin Cooks for Alvin Kamara. i love kamara, especially after that week 1, but i dont think i can turn that down... especially on a team with doug baldwin/marquise goodwin/alshon jeffery all hurt
even if fournette misses a game, that's just too much value to pass up. the gap between kamara/fournette wont be as big as week 1, and cook is a legit WR2 with upside.

For me it would depend on what the rest of my team looked like. I would worry about Fournette missing multiple games over the course of the season.

it's a half ppr league
my WR's right now: Josh Gordon, Doug Baldwin (inj), Marquise Goodwin (inj), Alshon Jeffery (inj), Ryan Grant (just picked him up, will be tossed as part of the trade)
my RB's right now: Alvin Kamara, Dalvin Cook, Adrian Peterson, Chris Carson, Aaron Jones (sus)

Yeah...I would make that trade as well. I liked the looks that Cooks got the other night. He sure looks to be their #1 and he would have had great numbers if not for a couple of pass interferences.

he still wound up with 5/87 and was targeted 8 times (and those target figures dont include PI calls). i was encouraged the other night as well, which is partially which i'm enthusiastic about the trade.
we discussed it via text yesterday, i just sent the actual proposal on the site, just waitin for him to accept

damn amateur. now he's asking me to "throw in" chris carson on top of it too. i dont have the same confidence, but he said he'd throw in latavius murray (would be my dalvin cook handcuff). i gotta mull it over.
so id be getting fournette/brandin cooks/latavius murray for kamara/carson. telling him i'd do with with aaron jones, not with carson.

that's some weak ass shit. I would say no thanks and let him sit awhile and watch Kamara go apeshit for another week while Fournette plays limited snaps.
although that doesn't really address your WR problem for the week.

i formally offered kamara/jones/grant for fournette/cooks/latavius, but told him ima withdraw if if anything negative comes up on fournette, so he has some time pressure. im drawing a line in the sand at carson

Look at picking up phillip dorsett if he's on the wire

i know he had a good week, but not a fan. hogan wont be that quiet again and they fill similar roles. and once edelman returns in a couple of weeks he's going to soak targets. if this trade goes through i can be content starting cooks on a weekly basis. at that point i just need to wait for baldwin/jeffery/goodwin to get on the field and produce so i can trade up.
-

But.......
Was in a bar this morning, had to delivery some paint...ah....long story.
One of the guys there is a buddy of mine who is a Fantasy Footbal guru, he was talking to the bartender who also plays FF.
Emmanual Sanders......play him.
I really have no idea how it works.

Updated roster now. I'm trying to fight the urge to start Brandon Marshall over Stefon Diggs. Marshall is a red-zone threat and can catch all those jump-balls Russ is famous for. He's also w/o Baldwin and received the most targets in Week 1. If Rodgers doesn't play than Minnesota will blow GB out and just sit on the ball for the last 1.5-2 quarters. If Rodgers does play (Which I think he will), Diggs has major potential in this game. I don't even know why I'm second-guessing this, tbh...as for the flex, I think Chris Thompson is God's gift to dinkndunk Alex Smith, which makes him a must-start at the flex. I have Will Fuller to consider but I'll give it a week to see how he plays on that hammy.

Kelvin Benjamin or Sammy Watkins? I have Baldwin and Goodwin both out with injuries.

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
So I started Breezus. He had a solid day for me. But I had Stafon Diggs and Matt Breida and Brandin Cooks. I ended up winning my game 130 -55.6. A week after scoring 138 in a standard league. Good start.
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
my team in my 14-person league is significantly better than my 12-man league :lol...
mahomes and diggs went off to carry me in the bigger league.
in the other league i'm fucked because my top 4 WR's are all on the shelf and N'Joku has been a big flop
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Have any of you guys ever had an undefeated season? I don't know why I thought of this but its damn near impossible imo, never seen it. I went 11-2 (13-2 including playoffs) 3-4 years ago but that's as close as I've ever got.

Updated roster. One question this week: Ride the hot-hand of Fitzy at home vs Pittsburgh on MNF, or take Jared Goff in a likely shoot-out at home vs LAC? Tough choice, although I love the security of having a player on MNF.

Depends on your match up. If you are playing a team you “should” beat and they have THU players, wait and see. If they get off to a slow start, probably Goff since his floor is higher. If you feel you need a higher ceiling, you have to ride Fitz until he shows he’s slowing down.

My matchup projection (take that for what it's worth) has me winning by 0.4 points. Steelers are going to wake up and Fitz is going to come down to earth eventually, but I feel comfortable having one in the chamber on Monday.
Two corrections that I recently replaced in my line-up: Mason Crosby in at K, and Jabrill Peppers at IDP. I have Peppers for tonight, he has no one on TNF

just got send a juicy trade offer... i think i kinda have to accept it
12 man - half ppr
I give: Chris Carson, Aaron Jones
I get: Mark Ingram
My current RB's in addition to the ones being traded: Dalvin Cook, Adrian Peterson, Derrick Henry. so i'll have a 3 RB rotation of Cook, Ingram, Peterson with Henry on the shelf as a guy who can emerge later. ingram serving the last week of his suspension this week.
only thing i'm waiting on is news that Cook will play tonight. with peterson on a bye and ingram still suspended, i have a shortage of backs. provided cook is good to go, i can get away with starting Cook and Henry this week.

looks like a good trade for you. Might have to suffer a loss but sets you up better long term.
That trade would get vetoed in the ST league though.

i raced to the "accept trade" button the instant i saw Dalvin Cook was listed as active. the guy i was trading to was strugglin bad at RB though. he went WR/WR in the first two rounds, and counted on midround picks like Drake and Royce Freeman to be his reliable backs, and they've been letting him down. Trade made sense for him too, and its bittersweet for me because I really do think Carson is a high quality back and Jones has legit RB1 potential if McCarthy does the right thing (he won't).
But Ingram is a sure thing.

Yeah...seems like a win win. If Jones was guaranteed to get the workload he merits, it would be close. But it’s probably not going to happen. Especially with Pack trying to protect a gimpy Rodgers.

I don’t like it. Ingram is not in a good spot.
He’s out this week. Then a good matchup, then a bye. Then when he’s actually back, his next 3 games? Baltimore, Minny and Rams.
So out of the next 6 weeks there is one game you would feel good about playing him IMO.

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
56.7 points from Jared Goff:smokin
Diggs got me 24 as well...here's the rest of my starting roster this week:
QB: Jared Goff
RB1: Melvin Gordon
RB2: David Johnson
WR1: Stefon Diggs
WR2: Will Fuller
TE: Jimmy Graham
Flex: Demaryius Thomas
IDP: Jabrill Peppers
D/ST: Jacksonville Jaguars
K: Mason Crosby
BN: Mark Ingram (SSPD)
BN: Chris Thompson (Bye)
BN: Ryan Fitzpatrick
BN: Austin Ekeler
BN: Calvin Ridley
IR:
My only decision is who to sit out of Fuller, Thomas, and Ridley? I picked Ridley up a before he exploded last week, and now he's looking like a decent flex with increasing trade value. I'm leaning towards sitting him this week since Fuller is an automatic 100 yards and td guy with Watson, and Thomas will likely be in a shootout game against a horrid pass defense

Everybody has a bye week eventually, so I'm not going to worry about the fact this his comes sooner rather than later. 3/4 of all bye weeks occur in weeks 7-11. thats a period of time where owners are struggling to have roster flexibility because the roster spots they typically are able to vacate to make signings are now being occupied by their studs on the bench.
I have adrian peterson on his bye this week, the Bears D on a bye in week 5, ingram in week 6. that's going to be a relief going into those weeks.
that said, i accepted the trade with the thought that "at least i'll have dalvin cook available" and he got me all of 2 points. at least bailey got me 12. luckily my opponent didn't have any rams players... that game was a fantasy goldmine. (i do have cooks and diggs in my 14 man league)

Don't know what the other team looks like but I'm assuming you've got a big lead?
Fuller is the easy one to start. Thomas has not looked like Thomas and Ridley has earned Ryan's trust and is the clear #2 there.
Also, with the Falcons D, I can see that turning into a shootout. And I don't think the Falcons can effectively run the ball with Coleman.
I'd probably go with Ridley.

81-0 with 8/10 players left. The dude I'm playing has all his guys left but his lineup is below average. Should be an easy W but I'd still like to win $20 for high score this week. I agree somewhat on Ridley and the upcoming game, but if there's ever a time for Thomas to shine it's this matchup. If he can't do it now then he'll just stay on the bench or get traded. We'll see...might be a coinflip at gametime

you're definitely starting fuller. we already knew has a good connection with Watson, but this year he's been a target hog as well, which was an unexpected surprise. i'd probably sit thomas and play ridley. falcons D has been poor and the run game hasn't been the same without devonta, so i expect them to continue to air it out mercilessly. broncos not as much, and keenum prefers sanders
how many people are in this league?
and what does red/green denote?

12-team league, Gordon was my keeper. Red are FA/waiver pickups throughout the year and green is acquired via trade, the rest are draft picks (I auto-drafted after selecting DJ since it was like 3:30am my time)

Lamar Miller or Marshawn Lynch?
I'm leaning toward Marshawn since Miller has such a terrible OL

lynch and its not close. the only reason youd consider miller is the matchup against the colts

I never have and I've won a couple of championships.
So much luck is involved. You never know when a second tier player may blow up on you on any given week. Tyreek Hill, for example, always scores big against me when I play the guy who has him on his team. Also, you really need decent depth to survive bye weeks when your studs are out
I won the championship last year with Le"veon Bell and Todd Gurley as my starting backfield. Those two alone got wins for me most weeks while the rest of the team did little. The only reason I got Gurley in the third round in 2017 was because he was such a disappointment in 2016. So, many FF players were down on him.

Lynch has been good so far, but you need TD's out of him since he won't be nowhere close to hitting huge yardage games anymore.
Thanks.

goddamnit I should've listened to ya'll...Ridley is the real deal

ungrateful
and crofl if you lost after having goff, melvin gordon, david johnson, stefon diggs, will fuller, AND jags defense because of one sit-start decision

It's all good, I won by 35 after good games from DJ and Melvin. I'm up by 2 points over the next person in the league for the money this week, but not likely to win cause they have Sanders and I have Thomas. All the same, at least I got the dub

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
as long as manny sanders doesnt pop off for ~29 points tonight, i should be in the clear in my main league, despite having to start dalvin cook and derrick henry this week (peterson on bye, ingram suspended)
in my other league, i need mahomes to outscore lindsay/devonte booker by about 20 points, tho that league has some silly scoring settings... qb's get a point for every 20 yards instead of 25, and there are ridiculous bonuses for 300 yards, 350, etc.

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Who would you start this week? Brees vs the 5th rank D (?) Redskins or Joe Flacco vs the Browns?

Brees @ home IMO
I need running back suggestions. Need to start 3 RBs out of
Fournette (out)
Yeldon
Mixon
Ajayi
D. Freeman

If Fournette is out, Yeldon is a no brainer. KC's defense is hot garbage.
If Mixon is playing, he's by far the bell cow on a good Cinci offense. Miami's defense is average at best.
Ajayi... minnesota seems to do better against the run than the pass. Also the Eagles are a big time RBBC team and Smallwood has been featured of late. Bench
D. Freeman against Pissburgh's shitty defense... no brainer. Only X factor is if Coleman gets hot. You know Quinn will work Coleman this year because he's gone after 2018 while Freeman is signed long term.

Brees.
Redskins are on the road and aren't a good defense, they've only played 3 games so their total numbers are lower than most teams, also they played shitass Zona in week 1 who had no offense because they were trotting out the worst QB in the NFL (Bradford) at the time.
Ravens offense is good but the Browns defense has markedly improved, though last week's game wouldn't show it.

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
updated roster...
QB: Jared Goff
RB1: Melvin Gordon
RB2: David Johnson
WR1: Stefon Diggs
WR2: Calvin Ridley
TE: Jimmy Graham
Flex: Chris Thompson
IDP: Demario Davis
D/ST: Jacksonville Jaguars
K: Mason Crosby
BN: Mark Ingram (SSPD)
BN: Will Fuller V
BN: Demaryius Thomas
BN: Austin Ekeler
BN: Corey Davis
IR:
Will Fuller, Corey Davis, or Calvin Ridley at WR2? I'm pretty set on starting Thompson at the flex this week.

If Fuller was 100%, he’d be the start for me. But he could retweak the hamstring at any time.
Davis should be covered by White all day so I think I’d stay away from that matchup.
Ridley gets the lowest snap % but should be in a shootout.
To me it’s Fuller or Ridley. Just depending on if you want to play Fuller with the risk.
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
I’d go without Ridley too. All of Atlanta’s injuries on defense have turned them into a pass heavy team that plays from behind a lot in high scoring games. Ridley is also going to see more snaps because of that.

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
i need AP and Mark Ingram to protect my 20 point lead against Breesus
-
Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
so i got a little conundrum at RB this week. my current backs are:
Ingram (bye)
Dalvin Cook
Adrian Peterson
Wendell Smallwood
Derrick Henry
report came out today that Cook was a full participant in practice, so looks like he's past his injury and should be fine in a cupcake matchup against the cardinals.
question is what do i do at my RB2 spot. all reports so far indicate peterson wants to play through his injury, and i'm down for that. but there's always the risk he's eventually held out. alternative is to start smallwood tonight, but his role alongside clement is uncertain. what sucks is eagles play tonight, so i have to commit to Smallwood NOW and then wont be able to play peterson if he's active.
my gut is to gamble and bench smallwood, banking on peterson to play. if peterson turns out to be unavailable, my only option would be to start henry

That is tough. I’d also worry that the Viks cupcake matchup might be a chance for them to get Cook some more rest.
And then the Peterson issue. I would probably start Smallwood tonight and then think really hard about Peterson over Cook.

last time the vikes thought that way they got they shit pushed in by buffalo. if cook had just put in a couple of limited practices (like he did before the Rams dud), i'd be worried. a full practice means they're not even doing maintenance and he's good to go, imo.
so it really comes down to peterson vs smallwood, and everything i've read has said AP is gonna play. i think ima bench smallwood. i already have OBJ and Alshon starting today... dont want to put too many eggs into TNF basket.

Okey dokey. With Sproles out, I’d still start Smallwood over AP.

Not great choices but I suppose it's Luck. Watson probably won't have much time to throw. Watson hasn't been great even against worse teams.

Re: **2018 Fantasy Football Advice Thread**
Luck is quietly one of the top FF QBs so far this season. He’s on my team and I’m riding with him instead of my other QB (Rivers) this weekend.
