This goes way back?
We're just going to get shitheads bitching about White the way they bitched about older players. It's fucking ridiculous. Just end it already.

White is a more versatile player who has not gotten even a small fraction of the playing time opportunities Forbes has gotten. It’s too soon to say he’s not cutting it. He played well enough in the second half of last nights game to think he’s got a chance to be much better than Forbes.
No doubt. Forbes still playing scared. Damn, how long is his new contract?

2 years.
Guys do comment about his body language and him hanging his head down after he screws up.

White did that too. So what?

Just indicative of fragile mindset. Don't sulk and don't boast. Just be steady. ...Almost like an expectation to fail. Winners don't hang their heads.

He does it way too often and is not a newbie anymore. I think the perception is that he's not mentally strong and since he has so few highlight-worthy moments, you see more hanging of heads from him than not.
White might have done that but then came back and fixed his game up. That shows some mental resilience. I don't want to see White go the Bryn Forbes path.

Yeah White came in and played shooting guard not against Wade. Marked improvement.
It's one preseason game. The confirmation bias on ST is stupefying.

well it's just one game for white.
Bryn Forbes has been hanging his head for a while. Did you watch him last season?
Also it's just one game, you want to not comment on what you watched?

Yeah, I saw a three point specialist shoot three pointers.

I did comment on one game. You've written off Forbes and will be saying the same things about him the rest of his tenure here.

If Forbes remains the same, I'd probably have the same opinion about him the rest of his tenure... what's the problem with that? Did he do anything to change it? lol

It'll be the same regardless what he does from here on out.

This could go on forever, so no need to say anything else. Just assume he will remain the same, and the criticism will remain the same.
He could be better than he showed in the one game and when he does, I'll point it out. (if he does...)

He's in a different team now. I know you (and others) miss him.

Re: 2 guys who already don’t belong on the roster
Funny how it's been mentioned, I also independently thought this while watching Forbes shoot jumpers. He seems to get way up and way down. Like after he made each of 2 jumpers he would point at the rim like it's the first one he ever made in the NBA. Seems kind of fragile, but w/e. Have to have that Mamba mentality. Who cares if it goes in just keep shooting

Yeah, he does a lot of the same things over and over again. Well, if it works for him, then who's to complain?
The Spurs staff must have been pretty high on him to actually sign him back. I don't like his defense, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

In a game, it makes sense to take a shot when opportunity arises. With preseason, players are told to sometimes play the game they aren't comfortable with. So I'm going to give a ton of slack about making judgments about preseason play.

1st) White didn't play SG. He played PG while Mills stayed off ball.
2nd) Wade had little to do with White's struggles on the first half, since most of White's fuckups were unforced errors.
White just started a little shy, when he shook off the jitters he proved what he can do against NBA competition.
This is a promising young prospect, no reason to put him down just to justify the coach playing other guys over him, tbh.

First off no one shot well from 3 last year because of spacing and lack of play makers last year. Once this team develops more space for their 3 pt shooters, Bryn will improve. He still should be considered the 10-15th man in the rotation imo. Specially if White and Walker start to show they belong.

Dude, you got it all wrong. You are the one that goes against reality and facts to try to justify every single decision made by the coaching staff.
I'm sure that the rest of us would gladly change our opinion about Forbes if he actually starts playing well and stops being a net negative player all across the board.

Good point... it's also just one game and he is being given the opportunity to hang himself, which is only fair. As has been pointed out, he needs to do better. If the decision was going to be made on just that one game, then others surely deserve more opportunities than he does.

Pavlov strikes me as an argumentative sort, just for the sake of it.
I didn't know his schtick was to backup Pop's decision and be a yes man and worse... worse bc, unlike Poppovich, he wants to shut down everyone who has a different opinion. I think Pop actually encourages people to voice up their takes. Pavlov may actually not like Forbes privately but damn if he's going to back down from going in circles over nada.
