I don't think we should. And we should strive as a country to help them stay in theirs. We should also pursue all legal avenues to allow them to apply but remain in their countries while the process is ongoing.

All that said, once they set foot in American soil, they should be treated with respect and dignity. Just same way we would want to be treated anywhere else.

Obviously they should be treated in a case by case basis. Not everyone that applies for asylum even gets it. It's less than half the people that do.

And they have to show imminent danger to their lives. I didn't say I was for letting just anyone in. There is a process of course.

Whether that's the solution or not, it doesn't excuse using fear, intimidation and sometimes outright abuse to attempt to deter applicants. It's shameful.
