The one thing people completely ignore is proportionate correlation. There's a reason we're the only 1st world country with over 110+ million in population; it's fucking expensive to be a 1st world country. Figure in that we're 3x plus bigger than the second largest first world country.
Throw in the fact that we're addicted to consumerism and unwilling to change that as societal norms force people to live outside their means more and more. And, if for some reason, this shit moves forward and people become responsible with what's left of their monies after the massive tax hikes necessary to pay for 350 million of us to have "free shit" cripple people, then we'll be hated because the global economy tanks because we stopped becoming gluttonous consumers. So much will have to chance for any of this to even be a tangible idea instead of a stale couch fart of an idea from a weasel-ass poverty pimp.
