Hopefully it's all speculation, which I think it is.

Dont know the guy but if it's for Belli. Do It!
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
They already have a better version of Ntilikina in Murray.
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
It's either Forbes/Pondexter or Belinelli they would have to trade with probably the Raptors pick attached cause the Knicks are looking to get a pick. I don't think giving them the Toronto pick is worth it.

Toronto pick is worth shit, unless Mute Cancer gets a REAL injury, tbh.

Dotson, Ntilikina, ....Porz to SAS confirmed

Trade for Frenchman = sign of surrender?

:lmao at this point Drunkford has to be trolling
Ntilikina is the worst PG in the league and I don't think it's close. Is this faggot purposely trying to have a roster full of garbage midgets?
This is not how you small ball, RV.

Shit, I thought he was a SG. He's 6'6. He's still better than our shitty 3 PGs, tbh.
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
He's no midget. He's 6'6'' 200, with a 7-foot wingspan. He can credibly defend 1-3, but he's like Murray or Exum offensively, in that he can't shoot and isn't a play maker, rendering him useless on and off ball.

Yeah. Probably just due diligence. There's no logical trade to be made. Despite being a recent top 10 pick, his current value isn't commensurate with one and the Raptors 1st would be them selling low. Even if they'd do it for that and salary filler, I wouldn't even give that up for him. Too much negative overlap with Murray.
About the last thing this team needs is another guard that lack dynamism off the dribble.

Ntilikina is even worse than that pick

Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
If we could just land another shooter who cannot defend for shit, we'd be all set.
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
Probably another Parker recommendation :lol
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
A top 10 draft pick in the second year of his deal who hasn't performed as expected... that's the type of player you want to add if you are going to shed veteran players and start over. I'm all for it. If you can move belli for him do it and try to develop him to reach his potential. Hopefully this means we are prioritizing a direction and this is a precursor to unloading some of our higher priced guys.

Yeah but you don't send out a draft pick to get him. He's young and a good defender, but he also has no jumpshot so you can't give him major minutes. Obviously that changes if Chip can improve his shot. But you don't send out the pick

No, you don't send out draft picks when you plan to tank/rebuild. You either send out vets that have some value or you take back a bad contract to make the deal.

Almost like Poetl, who's in his 3rd year, tbh.

see. The Knicks want a pick attached. Makes 0 sense for them to trade Frank for scrubs like Forbes or Belinelli without a pick being attached. If PATFO could pull that off though, I'd be all for it. Would be robbery tbh
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
Of course some euro ive never heard of
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
Seems like a move in the right direction, if we can improve his shooting. Sure, that's a big if, but as a rookie, he shot 38% from the corner 3 and he plays for the Knicks, so that doesn't help either.
Quote:
Through his first 100 games in the NBA, Ntilikina has shown an advanced defensive acumen. As a rookie, he was one of the league’s best players in defending the pick-and-roll. When you combine his defensive intelligence with his great size — he’s 6’7″ with a 7’0″ wingspan — you have a potential perimeter force on the defensive end.

He defended Kyrie well. He can be elite at that end. But this team already has too many guards and unless you get him for nothing (Forbes, Belinelli) it doesn't make much sense. NY wants a pick

Sure, let's send Forbes or Beli or the Toronto pick, we need defense.
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
6’6 with a 7’1 wingspan. Still only 20 years old. I’d def send that tor pick for him. He was a lottery pick just a year ago.

You think that 28-30th pick from Toronto will get spurs something better than a one year removed lottory pick that hasn’t performed as expected but also has played for the worst franchise in sports?

If it was Marco and the Toronto pick I'd want the Spurs to do it just to get rid of Marco, I don't even care if Nkilitina turns out to be a bum. At least Pop wouldn't gift him minutes like Marco.

Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
Jumped over on twitter real quick and it seems the entire league is interested. Could just be New York over hype. But if true sucks for spurs and their absolute zero trade assets.

I get what you're saying but, if we are truly tanking I'd rather take back a salary that ny wants to shed instead of giving up a pick.

The fuck do they want Ntilikina for? It literally serves no purpose at all. :lol
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
He would be far and away the best defensive player on the roster. But he's even worse than first two seasons Murray on offense
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
He's pretty impressive defensively but terrible defensively. I'd trade a second round pick for him based on his defense and his upside. Not sure I'd trade the Raptors pick unless the Spurs are also offloading a bad contract.

Only way I’d do the Raptors pick is if it was Kanter+Frank for Mills+Beli+Raps pick. But that isn’t happening as NY isn’t going to take on too much salary for next year
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
Mills, Belinelli and the Raptors pick for Courtney Lee and Ntilikina would work. I'd do that

I tried to get info on this rumor if you want to call it that, but didn't get anything back. I've been asking more lately because of how awful they're playing lately, but no info as of yet.

Not necessarily related to this rumor, but I asked Mike Wright a week ago about the mood behind the scenes and he said he’s heard Pop is taking this really hard. Nothing substantial but might give you insight into what they are thinking at the moment

Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
Some guys just need a change of scenery. You know who IS playing well at PG for the Knicks? Mudiay. He was an absolute bust in Denver. He’s playing 23 minutes, scoring 11+ points, 2+ ast, 3 reb, shooting 47%, 36% from 3.
-
Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
After last night's game I would be more inclined to make this trade. We desperately need guys with talent (even if he hasn't lived up to it yet) and someone who can play D.

With that statsline perhaps a potential but low opportunity.
He kind of makes too much $ for a gamble but if they are losing games left and right, trading one of their traffic cone guards for a little bit of defense from their guard spots is a welcome sight.

Re: Ramblings on Twitter that Spurs might be...
Saw this on twitter smh”Hearing that a few weeks ago Janis Strelnieks got an offer from the San Antonio Spurs but he decided to remain with Olympiacos.Strelnieks is averaging 4.8ppg in Greek League and 7.9ppg in EuroLeague this season”

yeah, he looks worn, saw a clip of him calling a timeout after some shit defense. Don't see how anyone that's followed this team would think he wouldn't take this hard, I feel bad for him.

its not much money. He makes like 900k. So an exception of $450k isn't much.

Because it's based on half of his salary, and as a #29 pick, he makes next to nothing?

Hard to blame him. His wife's death combined with the unprecedented bitch move that Number 2 pulled is a hell of a double whammy.

Then for the best for both parties, he should retire ASAP. We all know he won't though. He can have easy checks until the day he dies here.

Kawhi's fault for not wanting to carry 14 scrubs and an old man who takes all the credit.
