Re: Bench DeRozan for the remainder of the playoffs
Him playing the last minute of the 3rd and entire 4th was a product of Aldridge's 1st half foul trouble. Pop clearly intends to have at least one play virtually every meaningful minute, so because Aldridge only played 13-14 1st half minutes and DeRozan played about 20, he was naturally going to try to balance that out some in the 2nd half; particularly with both struggling.
Even with his usual panicky, atrocious shot selection down the stretch, it was too soon to bench him in this situation because of politics and psychology. Do that in his first playoff game here and it'd have been near impossible to have him "all in" going forward. It also probably would have annoyed some of the other veterans. They just had to hope he scaled it back at some point and try to survive his unwitting attempts to sabotage them and luckily they did.

The Magic had a top 3 record in the NBA since the ASG, so they're not going to lie down. And yes...Lowry is horrendous (as usual in the playoffs). Like I said in the game thread, trading for Conley if possible would've been worth the extra year. :lol
:lol yess.. if Conley can stay healthy of course.
I know they played tons of players throughout the regular season, so who would you bench now to wrap up the rotation?

As for LaMarcus, yes, he sucks at double-teams and was rushing to avoid defense being in position.
Overall, it's good to know that we got a win without being at top performance. If these two settle their nerves/pay attention, we can compete on paper with any of the other teams.
Hope you're right and hope they do improve.
