Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
The ads are fairly inconspicuous, imo. I rarely look at this site on my phone because I don't get a mobile version. Is there no or will there be a mobile format?

There's a mobile format now. Look down at the lower left at that blank menu. Open it and at the bottom you'll find Default Mobile Style. It works.

Cool, thanks. Much better!

Looking into it :tu
A troll? Why because I find the ads and screen flickering annoying?
Sorry but you sound more like a troll than I do

With that in mind, Kori and I have put plans into motion that will have the following results:
1. The forum will be open to guests once again. This has been requested a lot and we will be making this change shortly.
2. I've started the ball rolling on a complete revamp of SpursTalk's homepage. The goal will be to complement and enhance the content that is found on the forum. This will be worked on over the summer and will be ready by next season.
3. As I mentioned, I'll be writing more and I'll be reaching out to get others to write. There's a void of high-quality Spurs content these days (we miss you, Johnny Ludden) and I believe we can fill that void.
4. To fund the server costs, planned upgrades, web development and more, we will experiment with minimal non-intrusive ads. As we test the ad placements, please post in this thread to let me know if you see any ads that don't fit that criteria (redirects, pop-ups, inappropriate content, etc.). A screenshot would be helpful, along with letting me know what type of device you are on. Though, honestly, it's unlikely that there will be any issues.
Thanks to everyone who has hung out during this roller coaster season. I don't know how the ride will end but I've enjoyed it. And I hope to kick things up a few notches going forward as we take SpursTalk to the next level.
I'd be happy to donate to keep this place up.
This site is a national treasure... ha!
Well, it's my treasure.

So ads aren't too bad thus far. Only ones that are kind of annoying are the ones that have started popping up inside of peoples posts, pushing the text over all weird to the left side

Good timing, tbh.
It only seems to happen in the first post of a new page.
Otherwise, the posts at the top and bottom are fine other than the wonky loading times, but I expect that will be smoothed out.

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
Hi everyone. I’ve abandoned my “read-only” status just to write this. :D Kori and timvp, thanks for your work on that forum. Longtime Spurs fan and forum reader here (for three years, if I remember correctly), and I visit the site daily for all the new hot takes and even hotter meltdowns :P but seriously, very good job. ST is lively and vibrant, that’s what I love about it. Even if there are trolls and alts and whatever. Keep it rolling.
Greets from Russia :)
P.S. sorry if there are mistakes - my English isn’t that good, and it’s 3 AM already here, so some may slip through every now and then.

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
Noticed some ads in the body of a post. It caused some minor formatting issues, but no big deal.
P.S. Pewdiepie is not alt-right (this will get deleted)

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
Please don't screw with the Longhorn recruiting thread that TFloss has.....best thread on this site.
I do miss bruno and his draft analysis. I feel the board is a lot better than it was 3 years ago when it was flooded with ignorant trolls. It is good to get back to talking basketball in a legitimate way.

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
Yup just noticed the ad in the middle of the body of the 1st post.
But the top and bottom ones seem fine

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
On iPhone I downloaded Malwarebytes
When to safaris content blocker turned on malware no ads

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
Hi Timvp and Kori
Just a comment on the in body ads, I think it's better if it's in between the posts in the within the first post.
It screws up the format in mobile version.
Better also if it's in between as you can put another leader ad.
Google adsense also has an option called auto ads. It'll help them select the size optimized for the site. :)

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
Getting ads up the wazoo on mobile. On computer browser, no difference as I have ad blockers on.
Would be down for the subscription option or donation people have been talking about here. You guys have been great with creating and keeping the site going for this long so the least I can do is pitch in.

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
Jesus Christ please get rid of the ad on the first post of every page.

Re: SpursTalk 2.0: The Forthcoming Changes
These in-post ads make for some skinny posts. Is there any way to have the post continue underneath the ad so you don't get these skinny ass posts?
