Would have landed Doumbouya or Goga or potentially someone else the Spurs wanted more than Samanic. Now that that's over, I'd really need a first with a legit chance to convey to do a similar deal. It looks like 2020 won't be a great year to have cap space anyway. Getting a pick for $10 Million really isn't a bad deal at all. Batum has been horrible, but on paper, he's that bench SF or platoon PF the team needs, and he might be able to guide Samanic and Johnson in their development.
Batum is $25m+ for next 3 years.
I wouldn't mind a trade sending DeRozan there with Batum and another asset.
Batum has better length and greater range than DeRozan. They are both equally inefficient and expensive.

2 more years actually. 2nd year is a player option but I'm sure he'll exercise it. For 2 seasons I wouldn't mind Batum. He would be a huge expiring in 2021

Orlando is offering Vucevic a four year deal. I wonder if they’re willing to part with Bamba.

I've settled on the ideal, realistic off season being re-signing Gay, creating cap space or working a sign and trade (trade Bertans, Belinelli and if needed, a lottery protected 1st into cap space elsewhere) to acquire Bogdanovic, then using the MLE on JaMychal Green . . .
Starters: Green, Bogdanovic, Aldridge, DeRozan, Murray
Bench: Gay, White, Forbes, Poeltl, Mills
Deep bench/G-League: Walker, Center (for minimum), Metu, Samanic, Johnson
Two things have changed this, 1) Supposedly Bogdanovic is the Pacers to lose and they plan to walk away from Young and start Sabonis in his stead. 2) Walker to the Celtics means the Hornets no longer need to pretend to be pseudo competitive to appease him and align with his timeline and can instead focus on cutting costs and re-building.
The Spurs should offer Bertans and Belinelli for Williams. The Hornets would save roughly $2.15M, get a look at a younger stretch four and improve their middling 3-point shooting. The Spurs would get a near ideal fit all the way around and avoid what could be something of a bidding war for Green.
They could fill out the roster with younger shooters, like Kaminsky (rumored interested) for a portion of the MLE and Korkmaz for the minimum . . .

Re: Spurs 2019 offseason thread
I was reading this Pounding the Rock article: https://www.poundingtherock.com/2019...ay-into-a-star
and it linked to a spreadsheet by Jacob Goldstein of next year's projected PIPM (player impact plus-minus) numbers for all players. The full spreadsheet is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...VaVD6k3LOur2sU but I pulled the numbers for all the Spurs players. As with all plus-minus stats, these should be taken with a grain of salt, but I found it to be interesting:
Code:
Player Age O-PIPM D-PIPM PIPM
------------------------------------------------------
Derrick White 25 +0.42 +1.89 +2.31
Dejounte Murray 23 -1.03 +3.33 +2.30
Davis Bertans 27 +1.33 +0.33 +1.67
Jakob Poeltl 24 +0.06 +0.90 +0.97
LaMarcus Aldridge 34 +0.65 +0.31 +0.96
Rudy Gay 33 -0.49 +0.60 +0.11
DeMar DeRozan 30 +0.70 -1.08 -0.38
Patty Mills 31 +1.09 -2.04 -0.95
Bryn Forbes 26 -0.67 -0.53 -1.20
Lonnie Walker 21 -1.36 -0.11 -1.47
Chimezie Metu 22 -1.40 -0.11 -1.51
Drew Eubanks 22 -1.38 -0.13 -1.51

Marco Belinelli 33 -0.08 -2.19 -2.27
Keldon Johnson (R) 20 -0.78 -1.50 -2.28
Luka Samanic (R) 20 -2.27 -1.46 -3.73

Bojan Bogdanovic, sources say, and they will toggle between Sabonis/Turner lineups and smaller groups featuring

If the Pacers don't resign Thad Young Spurs should go after him

If they plan on resigning Bojan Thad is probably the odd man out. We would play 4 vs 5 on offense but the options are limited so i guess yeah.
