And before you get on me on DeMar's defense, he and LMA had identical Defensive win shares. Also, he is on his prime.
So, yes, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a new deal. Especially, if that means we keep Rudy for cheap.
:lmao
What have you guys been smoking??

Thank fucking god none of you run or even talk to the front office.
Re: ESPN on new deal for DDR?
Extending Demar would be a franchise killer. His athleticism looks like it's already on the decline.
Re: ESPN on new deal for DDR?
Seriously did pop tell DDR to stop shooting threes? He was shooting them last year in Toronto

From reddit:
He just has a different shot type when he's taking a 3 vs hitting a long 2 off the bounce, he's always been a better shooter on the bounce than in a set position.
Pop and the Spurs assistants probably noticed this and told him to stop shooting threes in order to keep consistency with his shooting form.
Re: ESPN on new deal for DDR?
I wonder how far up in the draft we could get for DDR plus one of our 1st round picks? If we could get a lottery pick would the value be there even if we drew #8?
Re: ESPN on new deal for DDR?
derozan is under contract for next year and has a 27 mil player option for 2020.
knowing the spurs MO, he will decline the 27 mil option and instead sign a 4 year deal for 25 mil per

All the DeRozan haters don't have a better alternative though, tbh.
The Spurs would be better off even if they don't replace DeRozan. He is a net negative player, always has been

Nonsense. In the second half LMA and DDR were balling. Station to station players like Forbes and Bertans are not going to pick up the slack.

Too bad the game was 48 minutes. the role players the Spurs could get with DeRozan's outrageous salary would be a huge improvement over that dude. See, eg, the clippers.
A career with a negative net impact, season after season. The numbers don't lie, his teams are better when he's on the bench.

Doesn't matter. The stiffs ain't gonna pick up the slack of the ballers in today's NBA in the playoffs. Don't internalize all this stupid schtick of ST'ers. It'll make you stupid.

Honestly, he goes to one of Fatty's coffee gang dates, and that number goes up to 4 years at 30mil per
Re: ESPN on new deal for DDR?
It's going to suck being a Spurs fan for several years. Pop might as well retire if the FO is settling for mediocrity
Re: ESPN on new deal for DDR?
He is much better than Forbes defensively so the team should be better in that respect
Re: ESPN on new deal for DDR?
We need a solid creating SF and a 7’1 Center this draft

He was pathetic in the east on a team that WAS built for him

wouldn't be the first time that Pop is holding a player back. LA was shooting them in Portland too and stopped when he came here. I assume 31% ain't good enough for Pop and he told DeRozan to focus on his strengths

How was that team built for him? Toronto built based on talent, length, athleticism, and skill. Where were the great veteran shooters that Lebron always got? Derozan needs shooters around him.
