Re: Coronavirus is one mutation away from infecting millions
Horrific Twitter thread by New York City health committee chair raises concerns on COVID-19 deaths
officials are considering temporarily burying people who die from COVID-19 in local parks
due to the number of increasing dead bodies and lack of space in freezers
at Office of Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) facilities in the state.
“A typical hospital morgue might hold 15 bodies. Those are now all full.
So OCME has sent out 80 refrigerated trailers to hospitals around the city.
Each trailer can hold 100 bodies.
These are now mostly full too.
Some hospitals have had to add a 2nd or even a 3rd trailer,”

"It's just the flu" "15 cases, going zero" "will disappear, magic!?

Re: Coronavirus is one mutation away from infecting millions
Also, how can any "conservative" argue against social safety nets after this? This pandemic should fully reveal the lie that is "bootstrapism." Shit happens to people on an individual level all the time that throws them into massive debt and poverty. Now we're seeing that shit happens phenomenon on a nationwide scale. Countless small business will probably have to shutter. Unemployment will soar. The hospitality industries (food, hotels, etc) will basically crash for the next couple of years. And it was through no fault of these people. Yet the billionaire class will essentially see no lifestyle changes.
Hmm, maybe if we actually taxed the rich relative to their income and built up such a safety net over the past couple of decades (and cut defense spending), we could've thrown 20 trillion into the stimulus package instead of 2 trillion.

I can practically see Darrin crapping his pants after reading that, while I’m in the shadowy corner of the room watching.

But yeah, you'll never be on board with universal healthcare (yet you're on board with a universal national defense that costs trillions upon trillions upon trillions and has done little more than play cowboys and Indians with goat herders).
I agree with less reliance on other countries (especially China).
No, I don't think it's retarded that entertainers are able to make a lot of money. Highlighting a form of entertainment that on paper (and imo although I've consumed a fair share of it) seems absolute garbage doesn't change that.
They are risking their lives during a pandemic. Should they get a wage boost during the pandemic? That wouldn't be unreasonable.
Agreed, we should not be wasting money on pointless wars. We should have a strong national defense.

Actually without bullshit regulations such as building codes that require certain sqft housing and better decision making then most people would be prepared for things like this. This pandemic does reveal that people are not making great decisions and the government stands in the way of that in many occasions.

Re: Coronavirus is one mutation away from infecting millions
Maryland is considering leasing ice rinks to use as temporary morgues, part of its preparation for an increased number of coronavirus deaths. Officials stressed it would be a precautionary measure and no leases have been signed.

I think it is retarded but I don't think it's unfair. Simply because there's nothing stopping anybody else from doing the same thing. Funny you mentioned fast food workers, I looked up some guy who became a Fortnite millionaire and he was literally doing fast food right before he became famous.
