I have been nothing but clear that I hope hydroxychloroquine works also. Just because I hate Trump doesn't mean I wouldn't love it if one of the drugs he's touting actually works and saves a ton of lives and pulls us out of this mess.

Never seen anything like the Cult of Trump in the US. Usually this populist, cult of personality shit is reserved for 3rd World dictatorships.

Re: Coronavirus is one mutation away from infecting millions
Some better data on asymptomatic/presymptomatic rate.
Good and bad. Good, because it guarantees a lower mortality rate. Bad, because that large of a percentage who don't know they have it can easily spread it to those vulnerable. If anything, the large proportion of asymptomatic carriers is more of a reason to social distance. Reason SARS-1 burned itself out quickly was because asymptomatic carriers weren't really that infectious and then could easily isolate when they got sick.

Really fucked up virus. Between the long incubation and asymptomatic spreaders, you couldn't "design" a worse pathogen.

It would take about 10 trillion to give every working American 75K. If we planned right since SARS, we could basically have every American take a vacation for a year until treatment/vaccine. And not everyone would need that 75K due to savings, wealth, being able to work from home etc, so 10 trillion would be enough to float those who need the most over the pandemic's lifespan. We need such a plan after this ends.

Re: Coronavirus is one mutation away from infecting millions
And that's my issue with the protesters right now. You shouldn't be protesting to go "back to work." You should be protesting for better solutions so that you feel you are not forced back to work to make ends meet during a pandemic.

Agreed. That was exactly my thoughts last night that they should be protesting for solutions that can help them. For examples protest for the government to pass a bill that would help prevent them from getting evicted.

Here's where years and years of stagnated pay and minimum wages becomes a serious problem for these employers:
Restaurants’ bailout problem: Unemployment pays more
Restaurants represent less than 9 percent of Paycheck Protection loan recipients, but as of March accounted for the majority of layoffs nationwide.

That fat bull dyke lesbian didn't look like she was starving. I doubt anyone is starving.
I wouldn't be surprised if a good percentage of those food bank people were reselling shit.
