There will never be enough, or they'll just deflect the blame onto other individuals. One reason cult devotees can't break themselves from their allegiance is because of the sunk cost fallacy. They have invested so much emotionally and psychologically for such a long time into the movement, cutting ties would be too psychologically damaging and emotionally demoralizing, especially since the cult has become a significant part of their identity. Breaking away is kind of like committing suicide in a sense. That's why it's so hard for people to forsake cults.
