They aren’t locking down again. Either Trump wins and they say “we won, not locking down, deal with it” or Trump loses and they say “we lost, who cares, deal with it”

New cases and positivity rate right now are nowhere near what they were in June and July in the San Antonio area thanks to mask usage being pretty high right now thankfully.

There's a relatively painless countermeasure to this, I know it sounds crazy, but you just give people money to stay at home for 1-2 months. You give money to their employers too.
Other countries have tried this, hell, the USA tried it last spring/summer. Fiscal spending helps keep lives, business and economies roughly intact under twin pressures of plague and recession. It also puts a stitch in the transmission of COVID.
