They claim to have a remedy for that. Dry ice and said it can be stored in containers for a week before going bad. Not really believing it but that's what was said.

Going to be challenging. But it actually works out better for us this way as Biden's cabinet wants to abandon the America First policies of Trump and hand out the vaccine to other countries before we are all taken care of.

I don't think it will be that difficult, at least in 1st world countries. First we need to know if these vaccines will have any impact on the spread of the virus or are they just creating asymptomatic super spreaders.

Ayup.
Hopefully it's not too tall a technical or health administration challenge for the USA. The trend of recent challenges (such as getting enough PPE, rapid testing and contact tracing in the USA,) does not inspire confidence.
The outbreak is general and completely uncontrolled. The public preparartions currently being made for another spell of largely avoidable mass death in the USA, as far as i can tell, are basically nil.

They've discussed in previous episodes but I can't reference you to exactly which one, they're usually 2 1/2 hours long. TWIV is the podcast to listen to for real science updates and discussion.

Quote:
First, this new plan isn’t the same as the one on the Biden campaign site. The campaign version had no mention of contact tracing, while this iteration does. But if you simply skim the campaign version versus the president-presumptive one, you’ll see tons of program proposals from the campaign have vanished, like emergency paid leave (with reimbursements to employers), income support for gig workers whose pay has declined, rental assistance, and support for small businesses.
The campaign plan also had sweeping promises about paying for all Covid treatments, not just testing. For instance, this section, by using the term “balance billing” clearly meant it included hospitalizations and emergency room visits:
All copayments, deductibles and any cost-sharing for treatment for COVID-19 for insured. Providers will submit cost-sharing claims to NDMS that document private insurance contractual arrangement for co-payments. To ensure maximum provider participation and minimum billing abuses to consumers, current Medicare law’s “conditions of participation” and system-wide prohibitions against balance billing and surprise medical bills will apply. To guard against fraud and abuse by bad-apple health care providers, harsh civil and monetary penalties under the False Claims Act will apply.
There’s not a peep about any of this in the new version. All it has regarding “treatments,” in context, is new medications to reduce the severity and/or length of a Covid infection, and not, say, being administered oxygen in a hospital:
Plan for the effective, equitable distribution of treatments and vaccines — because development isn’t enough if they aren’t effectively distributed.
The lack of financial support for workers to stay at home because they are sick, quarantined, or just waiting for test results makes it difficult to treat this scheme as serious. And the failure to even ask for the government to cover all Covid treatment costs, not just the kind that can be administered with a needle means a lot of people who have or think they have Covid won’t seek treatment until they are really really ill, increasing the load on hospitals and producing worse outcomes.

Looks like the Moderna vaccine is same fraud
Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel made news this morning by stating that Moderna would be pausing its Covid-19 trial enrollment to ensure ethnic diversity among the participants. That was reported by CNBC, but the real news regarding Moderna and its stock is readily available via SEC filings.
This is extraordinary. I have been reading SEC documents for the past three decades and I have never seen such a mismatch between insider selling and (largely nonexistent in the case of MRNA) insider buying.
CEO Bancel's sales are mostly carried out through a 10b5-1 program, in which periodic sales are executed. Often this is to fulfill tax obligations on shares that are granted via options and restricted shares granted through ownership programs.
Forbes
Moderna vaccine also has to be stored in dry ice and such.
These pharma companies are scamming the fuck out of us :lol

You could be confusing Celsius with Fahrenheit.
This kind of stuff ships on dry ice all the time and gets stored in ultra low freezers.

All this guessing and parlor talk from dabblers is amusing, but needless. It's not at all uncommon for these things to ship on dry ice and be stored for days that way. A small ultra low temp freezer can store up to 40K 2mL vials. Are people worried that small towns can't afford a $6.5K freezer?

There are places like the USVI that don't have them at all but contingencies are being worked out if the 60 Minutes story is to be believed. Rubes are going to be upset at how little vaccine will be initially shipped and who gets it first. Biden's probably going to look like Superman if he owns distribution as part of his first hundred days.

Why would you store them instead of administer them? They last up to 15 days on dry ice if it's replenished.

I am a public health doctor and other vaccinations have a cold chain and:or take multiple doses. Nothing to see here except some logistics challenges. I have given vaccines in Nigeria and South America and believe my the USA can get many people vaccinated and props this vaccine if truly proves 90 per cent effective.

Dry ice shortage could slow down COVID-19 vaccine distribution

However, there's a shortage of CO2 caused by the pandemic, which is delaying the production of dry ice and could ultimately slow down vaccine distribution.

The storage problem was pointed out by others weeks ago in related threads, it's not like this is a surprise or anything. This is one of the things we knew about the Pfizer vaccine.

again no one said its not doable, just that its going to take a lot more time and effort than some people seem to think, especially factoring in the utter ineptitude of the government in general. and lets not act like its a done deal that this vaccine is even the solution. lol didnt reports say it was 90% effective in less than 100 tests? rofl not much of a sample size, doesnt account for the constant mutation that has been seen around the world, and doesnt give us any idea of how long the immunity will actually last. maybe theres more than meets the eye, im no scientist obviously. to me, there is nothing too terribly encouraging about the reports so far. then again its better than nothing at all.

and apparently its all a piece of cake in your mind "oh yeah, lets just spend billions on getting a bunch of tiny freezers manufactured and transported to all the hospitals and clinics in america to get over a hundred million people vaccinated!" shouldnt take any time at all i suppose :rollin
again no one said its not doable, just that its going to take a lot more time and effort than some people seem to think, especially factoring in the utter ineptitude of the government in general. and lets not act like its a done deal that this vaccine is even the solution. lol didnt reports say it was 90% effective in less than 100 tests? rofl not much of a sample size, doesnt account for the constant mutation that has been seen around the world, and doesnt give us any idea of how long the immunity will actually last. maybe theres more than meets the eye, im no scientist obviously. to me, there is nothing too terribly encouraging about the reports so far. then again its better than nothing at all.
Not to mention seems this vaccine has medium side effects according to ppl that took it. Headaches, body aches, etc.

those are listed on every vaccine you take. Fuck, my dog has puked after getting a rabies shot

Amazing I have worked in public health 25 years and helped with vaccine campaigns in three countries and amazed at all the “expertise” who feel US cannot deploy vaccines - sure there will be issues and the media will dramatize every one but in the end dozens of millions will be vaccinated. This is not friggin Nigeria where I did polio work where the dysfunctional government impeded things. It may take awhile and it won’t be easy and without issues but the USA will get it done- book it.

Nigeria did q better job containing the pandemic. Btw nigeria did an excellent job vs ebola as well.
Im tired of "experts" saying this is tbe USA and we will do excellent.
That ship has sailed. It has sailed with 250k rotting american corpses. Sorry

Dude, I quoted you "1) -80 is not -94, which is the required storage temperature"
Then I showed you the actual quote from the website:
"The main issue is that the vaccine, which is based on a novel technology that uses synthetic mRNA to activate the immune system against the virus, needs to be kept at minus 70 degrees Celsius (-94 F) or below."
In fact the required storage temp is given in F, not C. The freezer is -80 degrees C. Plenty cold for -94 degrees F requirement.
You're the one who argued against the -80 degree freezer without knowing anything about it.

It is a piece of cake. Buy freezers, install them. Done.

I hear COVID has a few as well.

88000 pharmacies in the US. about 6500 hospitals, 1500 or so clinics. If we say a hundred thousand sites for covid vaccine administering, and not a single one has an ultra low temp storage unit, then we put on average a 12K dollar unit in each location, that's about 1.2 billion. That's pocket change compared to the alternative and what we've already spent on testing in only one or two states. This is not a logistical issue. This is already happening with other instrumentation across the globe daily. For Hooterville and Podunk, mobile labs with on-board freezers and doc in a box at your beckon call.

lol we had already been talking about the degrees in F. you suddenly changed it to C without clarification. I literally had nothing confused here

lol so apparently there's no cost for the vaccine, transportation, labor, training, among many other things. you're completely retarded :lmao
again no one is saying it's astronomically expensive or difficult. just that it's still going to take some time, preparation and money, none of which the government seems particularly good at managing so far.

Man, can't imagine a dysfunctional government impeding action against COVID here.

From the looks of it, the logistical software will probably fail before anything else.

That was for freezer costs as I said. You shit the bed on the temp thing. Stick to what you know.

-80 degree freezers are a standard lab item. Google is your friend.
You have to tackle one obstacle at a time. Right now you're bitching about freezers. It's easy as fuck to solve that. Distribution networks exist now, pretty sure Pfizer has that under control already. Again, you're creating imaginary problems to feel anxiety over something that's a daily occurrence now. Do some research then come back with a list of obstacles.

when did I ever complain about freezers? lol you just overreacted to my post where we simply weren't on the same page about a temperature, and that while you made a claim that such freezers are standard lab equipment, I simply stated it's not necessarily standard hospital, clinic or pharmacy equipment.
I even stated multiple times it's doable, and that my main skepticism is with the government itself and their history of being incompetent and idiotic in how they handle basically everything. not sure why you're getting so bent out of shape :lmao

but but but logistics for the government is just so simple! it's just a matter of quarranting everyone who comes from out of town and not letting infected people be among the general public until they are covid free! this country could have been covid free from the get go! how about let's just blame people who question the competency of the government? :tu

The technology of ice chests has gotten better so its not needed like it once was. Worse, it can turn an ice chest into a bomb, never put it into a fancy Yeti that locks air tight. You have to bleed the sublimated CO2 off. Its a hassle if you have not done it before. It can be good for long camping trips if you know how to use it with water ice.
Its kind of funny because of all these Trumpsters claiming they are choking on CO2 when wearing a mask. If snakeman wants funny: put 3 cakes of dry ice (solid CO2) in the car and close all the windows in the summer. You will stay cool if you are near it and stay low in the car, and you will also suffocate. Id rather Derp try it while wearing a mask in his car so he can provide proof for the danger of masks with his corpse.
