Just once, it might be nice to see a Walton thread fall off the page, but since I know that won't happen with this one, I decided to post this note.

Sorry if the following was already said. ( I couldn't stomach any more baloney :) )
Even on a bad night, I would rather have Timmy than not.
Walton and Sequ make asses of themselves.
What's new?
"I would rather have Timmy than not"
hmm, I've been thinking about that.
I think when Tim is playing really bad, like tonight and vs Wiz, it would be, theoretically, better NOT to have him at all, which would force the other players to step up.
When Tim plays bad, we nearly always lose. But when Tim doesn't play at all, we don't nearly always lose.
ie, his negative impact is greater when he's having a horrible night than when he's not playing at all.
Of course, there's no practical way implement to this. No matter how bad he's playing, the Spurs alwasy will keep going to him even it means losing the game.
I can't remember Tim having a horrible night for 3 qtrs and then play MVP the 4th qtr. When he sucks, he usually sucks the whole game.
I can't remember Duncan ever having an awful night two games in a row.
Well whaddya know, the IQ level of the board has gone into the inevitable tailspin after a loss. And Walton and Sequ are awake and feeling more inclined to make stupid posts.
Listen, I dunno if you've been watching the Spurs enough this season or even the past few seasons, but this is not a new phenomenon
Fact #1: The Spurs aren't really enthusiastic to play teams such as the Bulls and the Hawks in November and December. the 2002-03 Spurs were 19-13 over Oct, Nov and Dec 2002. Last year's Spurs were better at 25-6. The 2000-01 Lakers who were one of the strongest postseason teams we've seen were 22-10 over the same period. We are 16-4 now, playing .800 ball in freaking December. That, in my book, has exceeded expectations ... from a team that is clearly oriented towards the playoffs.
Fact #2: Tim Duncan is going to have a few bad games once in a while. That does not give you the license to bitch and moan about, much less compare him to Webber. Duncan is averaging 21 ppg, 12 rpg, 3 apg and 2.7 bpg in 35 minutes while shooting 53% from the field and 76% from the FT line. "C-Webb 2k6" was 2nd overall in Hollinger's PER rating after Garnett and before Shaq, Amare, Dirk. That's how good he is ... worth every penny of his 17 mil. Unless you want a 30 ppg, 40% FG shooting 2-guard who'll be struggling to get his team to the playoffs, cuz that's also available for 17 mil.
Fact# 3: We don't get trophies for dominating in December.
Yeah, no other superstars who have played the game EVER had bad nights like TD did tonight...right moron?Quote:

I guess Jordan should be stripped of his GOAT title since he had the game above... according to your standards.
I always knew you were a tard. Just didn't think it was this bad.
see games 3 and 4 of last years finals or games 3 and 4 of the series against seattleQuote:

Looks like you're only half-right GS21...but I do hear your point. Duncan does occasionally have bad games twice in a row, but very rarely.
Touche! But I still say Timmy is a keeper! :)
Timvp!
Of course he is. I used to be just like some of these people, over-reacting when the Spurs lost or a player had a bad game, taking out my frustration by making wild, ridiculous claims like "TD is an overrated, slightly better version of CWebb," acting as if his salary was earned or not earned by his production on one particular night.Quote:

Sometimes (like against Washington or Atlanta) Tim does look a little tentative, but sometimes (like against Miami and Orlando) he looks like a monster. And the greatest fear I have, the thought that gives me nightmares, is that Tim is past his prime, that he is starting to slow down, that he can't be as dominant as he was in the past. But then I remind myself that the people who make those claims only pipe-up when TD has a less-than-stellar game, but remain utterly silent when TD dominates. I realize that they have an opinion that they feel must be correct at all costs, and harp on the evidence that supports it, but completely ignore the evidence that doesn't. And that makes me sleep a little better at night.
Go Spurs Go!
he had two injured ankles you dumbassQuote:

He just seemed to crawl into a shell, playing passively and passing up shots. Taking 13 shots in a game where the whole team is struggling and you're the MVP is really lame - especially against a scrub team with a scrub fontline like the Hawks. Very uninspired play last night and very embarrassing.
kori, why don't you ever lock walton's ridiculous threads? they add absolutely NOTHING to this board.
easy on bashing ALL canadians...eh
some of us still use our brains
Totally innapropriate, completely unprofessional and down right nasty.Quote:

Speaking of peep shows, Smeagol- the manager at the local titty bar wants to know where his jizzmopper's been for the last two nights.......
