I wonder what those same people say about SAR clearing out with his off arm all night? The Spurs don't make excuses when they lose, but it seems like everyone else always has one. At some point don't you just have to win the game?

If I were going to hazard a guess, I'd say because Bonzi knocked Manu to the ground and people would call you stupid if you called it a weak touch call.

I have trouble telling the difference between when Manu is actually fouled or when he is flopping. I've seen air knock the man over. He will soon take the crown from Divac.

I read those same forums from time to time and they also believe:
1. Manu is a flopper, cheater and should be maimed.
2. Bowen is the dirtest player in the league and should be maimed or banned.
3. Duncan gets star treatment and should foul out of every game in the first half if the refs were fair.
4. Parker travels (oh yeah, Manu too) on every drive to the basket.
Only Rasho and Nazr go unscathed, a true sign of mediocricy.
Fact is with success the Spurs have also attracted more than their share of haters and less than of objective fan/critics. Any gray zone play you'll have more than half siding with Spurs' opponents. A price galdly paid for success.

Not surprising, since you can't tell the difference between a body check and a touch foul. And I'm waiting for a single example of Manu getting knocked down with no actual contact. You can go back as far as you like.

I think that was more a riposte to Adleman's whining.
Four fouls, if they're shooting fouls, is a difference of EIGHT FTs. I'd say that was relevant in a close game.

... and Bonzi flopped like live salmon on the dock on that behind the back pass to Finley Manu made. But you have Kings fans crying Bonzi was trampled. He did Floppy Divac proud in that Kings uniform.

I'm searching now. May take a while as I'll have to search through a database of thousands of Manu flops. :bang

No. It was made before that thread on Adelman's whining was made. Check the dates.

From the newspaper:
Suns coach Mike D'Antoni told the paper Ginobili "got tangled up a little bit" with Raja Bell when he stumbled backward, and "just to make his point, he was falling down."
"It was an accident," D'Antoni told the Republic.

Re: Adelman, game 2 - It was illegal (pick)
Jeez, enough on this...
Spurs fans... this was a totally clean pick, you know it , i know it, the refs know it, Bibby should not have fallen asleep. Good job refs.
Kings fans.... what a freaking screw job ! The refs love the Spurs, they get ALL the calls. That pick was totally illegal. You were robbed - robbed I tell you !!!

From Barbosa:
“Ginobili always likes to flop,” Barbosa told The Arizona Republic. “Nobody even touched him.
“He jost flopped. That’s why I feel sad to hurt myself like that,” he added. “I wish I could have hurt myself in another way.”

Whatever. Adelman complains about one call, when his team got the benefit ( in terms of FTA) all night. I guess that's the point. What he should complain about is that his team couldn't close the deal. One possession after Duncan went out, Sacto was up 5. They were unable to take advantage of our All-NBA pivot chained to the bench for 5 minutes in the fourth. That's the bottom line, not some pick, moving or otherwise.

If you re-read my posts, no where have I blamed the loss on a non-call on that pick. Never.
The benefit of FTA's?????? Do some research first as to not make yourself look so foolish. SA 36 - SAC 38.
SAC got two more FT's :madrun :madrun :madrun

Just for fun . . . .
Manu DID royally flop in a playoff game in Seattle last year. Antonio Daniels was nearby and appeared to make contact with Manu, but the slow mo showed that AD made almost no contact; Manu fell down like he'd been shot by a sniper.
With that said, I think reports of Manu flopping are overblown. The dude takes a ton of contact and that contact is usually foul-worthy. He exaggerates the contact he sustains in some instances, but in many other cases, he doesn't have to do anything. Besides, he'd have to be about the best athlete in the history of mankind to have enough body control to play as hard as he does and still be effective while hunting for opportunities to flop.
Many great players over time have exaggerated contact; and Manu is hardly alone in his exaggeration -- just watch Dirk Nowitzki one night and tell me that there's a difference between what Dirk does and what Manu does, other than that Dirk gets to the line more.

Again, I think it's a bankrupt argument, but SAC had a substantial advantage at the end of regulation; the Spurs closed the gap in OT.

I agree with your take on Manu. Hell, the guy is a wild man that isn't afraid of anyone on the court. He takes a beating and gets up looking for another. I respect that aspect of his game and only hate him because he's not on my team. But the super drama flopping just kills me.

about 6 that I remember, came off intentional fouls.

Re: Adelman, game 2 - It was illegal (pick)
Duncan should've applied a legal elbow to Bibby instead, I guess.

That's about right; the Spurs shot 12 of their 36 free throws in OT. I don't think SAC shot any, which would have made the number 38-24 at the end of regulation. But if the Spurs didn't like that differential, they shouldn't have committed fouls, whatever criteria the officials were using to make those calls.
