Manu had 12 attempts and Parker had 7
Everyone else on your team is a perimeter player, besides Duncan, so its obvious why they weren't at the line all night. I really think some people are blowing this FT thing up a bit.

As did Vlade's kill me. You'd have thought landmines were going off around Vlade when anyone made contact with him.Quote:

I always thought of Vlade's flops more consistent with that of a falling tree. He just kind of slowly fell back and landed with a hard thud. Manu has the amazing head jerk reaction no matter where he is hit. I think his hair adds to the effect.Quote:

Oh, I know. But, by the logic you applied earlier, the absence of FTA's makes sense. Here are the Kings' OT possessions (according to the play-by-play and using ESPN's shot chart):Quote:

By contrast, the Spurs took 7 FGA in overtime and made 4. The 4 makes were 2 foot (Nesterovic), 1 foot (Parker), 1 foot (Ginobili), 0 feet (Ginobili). The Spurs 3 misses were 9 feet (Parker), 12 feet (Duncan), and 17 feet (Ginobili).
Attacking would certainly seem to make a difference, at least in that context (though I realize that Manu got 3 FTA on the foul behind the arc).
Very true. The Kings did the opposite of what they had been doing all night, attacking the rim. Reason being why I'm not complaining about a lack of FT attempts. Just pointing out how some Spurs fans here expected FT's when the Spurs were not attacking the basket.Quote:

Sacto was give a gift of many extra FTs in regulation. That they couldn't take advantage is going to haunt them. What Adelman was bitching about took place at the end of regulation, at which time Sacto had a DECIDED advantage in FTA.
Sacto choked. They couldn't close the deal. They ARE an eight seed, not some wonder team on the move. They are Denver, 2006.
If choking is taking the defending champs to the brink on their own court only to be had by a lucky bounce on a last second three pointer, so be it.Quote:

So, we dont have a lot of talent in the NBA, but a bunch of lucky shot artists, eh?
How many shots do you see from the corner hit the rim twice and then hit the top of the backboard only fall in?Quote:

If it was a shot for my team I'd sure call it lucky, and I might even enjoy it more for the fact that the other team calls it lucky.
Of course.... DOnt you know better Spurs Dynasty?
Spurs cant beat anyone without luck shots.
Lots of lucky shots last saturday.
If it were Rasho or Nazi hitting it i might call it lucky, but Horry or Barry, KNOWN 3 pt shooters I call it another good shot. Dont get me wrong, i was delerious and did the dance of joy when the shot fell but i bet we could watch the game footage and come up with another 20-30 lucky shots, dont you think?Quote:

It is only a lucky shot when it is an opposing team.
T Park-
Why do you keep following me around and replying to each of my posts? This isn't the best way to make friends you know. Giving away tickets to the games is a better approach, one you know all to well.
Hey, the next game is in your neck o the woods, YOU should be giving out game tickets... and maybe plane fare too. You would be MOST welcome here then. My address is...Quote:

A free throw is shot straight on. The backboard is there to help. A shot from Barry's angle requires an awkward, or lucky bounce to bank off the backboard. Whatever, I'm done arguing over whether it was luck or not. We will agree to disagree.Quote:

Oh yeah, pick looked very illegal to me (Tim sets, then leans in a bit when Bibby tries to come underneat, then steps out when Bibby changes his mind and tries to go outside). But the game had absolutely horrible officiating anyway, so who cares.
TPark, when did you start saying slow your roll?
On the illegal screen, everybody in the NBA is aware that just about everything goes in the last second out of bounds play. The refs usually refuse to call something like moving screen or holding. I remember in a previous Nets/Pacers playoff matchup Reggie Miller got wide open coming off a Jermaine O'Neal screen and blew the shot. They interviewed Jason Kidd afterwards and his man was Miller. He said, Obviously Jermaine set a good pick...
All Jermaine did was hold him for a second and a half.
That's the best example. That's pretty much how it goes.
maybe if the refs werent distracted by the 3 point shot they would of called the screen a foul. but thank god, it looks like they werent paying attention
