Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
Outstanding performer in Eurobasket last summer, and now the MVP of Euroleague Final Four to help CSKA win the championship.
Is he an NBA-style player? Would he be a tweener who excels in Europe but not for the NBA game?
Should Theo be a target for the Spurs?

Or a big 3

Re: Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
The Euro the Spurs need to sign is Gregor Fucka...for obvious reasons. The #1 selling Jersey ever...

Re: Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
I think he's 6-6 or so. He's a swingman.
Greece used him alot in iso situations. Decent crossover dribble and very strong with the ball.

Re: Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
Depends on if hed want to come over.
AND, if hed accept the pentance the spurs would pay him for a year or two.

Yeah too bad he's 35 and will never be in the NBA. I guess fans will have to settle for "Head" jerseys instead :)

Smodis could be the new Horry. ;)
-
Re: Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
Smodis has all NBA qualities except he is injury prone. I like him and his play, however he is not durable enough to stand 82 + some PO games.

Why so much hate for peja? If you could have him during his 2003-2004 year I bet you would take him. The only problem with him is he relies to much on others. He would be great on a team with nash.

I don't care if it's urapeein or anywhere else, but please, please get us a bad-ass dominant center!

I don't know if he is to old with 27. Chuby? I haven't noticed. He is a hell of a fighter and pretty stong with great jumper.
(Unfortunatelly he plays for his club only, when is time to play for national team he usually gets "hypohondritis akutis").

Yes, he`s 27. And he looks a little chuby, but he`s strong as a bull. But please, he had problems with injuries all the time, not just when it came to playing for the national team. And last year CSKA didn`t allow him to play, the same as Tusek.
He could play in the NBA, if he was more durable.

He can play positions 1-3 in Europe.
-
Re: Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
Have we looked at the same Smodiš. The guy is chuby. Not fat, just not a great athlete.
But if he decieded a couple of years ago to go to the NBA I think he would do just fine.

Re: Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
A team with Fucka, Gay and Head...imagine the possible lines in the game...
"Gay looks for Head in the post, but he only finds Fucka down low"
-
Re: Could Papaloukas ever be a Spur?
Can he shoot?
Cause, Spurs will go after a pure shooter this summer for sure.

Spurs fans complain enough over one Slovenian center, they don't need two;)

Good question, and i think i can answer you.
No, he is not good at shooting. His qualities are, tough defender, good at running the floor, and a smart point guard. Maybe he could be similar to Jasikevicius but without the three point shot. Certainly, he has the pop´s trademarks :rolleyes
