Now i know "who cares about the officials we are gonna blow em out" but this is bavetta we are talking about. I hate to bring up the officials especially for a game as big as this one but i thought it would be nice to know.

whatever...Dallas dreads this guy as much as any team does. Didn't Stackhouse make comments about him and get fined?
Get over the ref factor thing already.
Like I posted before Game 5 DB dont' care about sides, he's evenly bad
How would anyone know already?
To quote Stackhouse - "Fucking Dick Bavetta".
And you know it's Bavetta because why?
i actually wouldnt be shocked to see danny crawford as the lead ref tomorrow night.

The repeat ref we are most likely to see tomorrow is Danny Crawford.
I don't know much about Bavetta and Crawford...but are they FAIR refs? Is that good for the Spurs or the Mavs? LOL...i don't get it...

refs are not announced until just before gametime, so unless someone has seen him in SA eating at Taco Bell, I call BS. I actually think it's about time that Crawford got one of our games.
Can someone please tell me about these refs? What's the story with them?
Well, they're all supposed to be "fair". It's the tendencies of certain of officials that makes the difference. But I think we can all agree that Salvatore sucks the biggest balls.
David Moore is good people. I'd trust that if he thinks Bavetta is officiating, then he likely will. You'd think they'd make it a little less obvious than just sticking the dude on a flight with everyone else.
well, Can someone help me get my foot out of my mouth?

It's official
I don't buy into the conspiracy theories that swirl around the NBA at this time of year. But I know a lot of fans do.
So, as a public service -- and so fans who fret about these things will be up all night worrying -- I will now divulge what official was on my flight from Dallas to San Antonio and will work Game 7.
Dick Bavetta.

Joey Crawford was the lead for today's game.
Bavetta isn't THAT bad..at least I don't think so most of the time. Now Danny..I don't know about the spurs, but as a pistons fan I dread seeing this guy reffing one of the pistons' games. He T's people up faster than you can say 'what?' I don't expect that to happen to any spurs player though.Quote:

Unless you like to see unfluid games with 200 fouls called..you shouldn't enjoy the prospect of Bavetta reffing a game...and he is he likely to screw the game up.
Danny is pretty fair to me.
Just do your job on the court and he will do his with the whistle.
yeah...and ass cancer isn't that bad either.Quote:

Nevermind. I guess it could be Bavetta though Nies has not worked this series yet. Maybe Bavetta and Nies are both working the game.
I am still counting on Bavetta having a coronary during a game. Hopefully it's tomorrow if this is true.
Let's just agree to disagree then. And is there such a thing as ass cancer? :huhQuote:

I don't mind Bavetta as long as the Spurs are at home. Bavetta is a nightmare for the road teams. Javie is hands-down the worst official in the league.
Now Bavetta's one of the classiest refs in the game. I'll give him that. Steve Javie...one of my co-workers told me he's the only ref that's ever ejected David Robinson. I don't know if that's true, though.
Now Joey Crawford...I guess we learned this post-season not to throw mouthpieces at him! I hope Joey Crawford refs Game 1 of the Pistons/Heat series. It'll be interesting to see if Udonis Haslem throws a mouthpiece at him AGAIN! :lol
I haven't seen Violet Palmer ever since she reffed her first NBA Playoff game, though. I heard she's also a WNBA ref, so she may be busy with that right now.
I have my own sources and i personally know that one of the refs is gonna be Bavetta. believe me or not its up to you, we'll see game time

This time of the year you may see two of the "top" refs at the same game. I would not be surprised to see Bavetta and D. Crawford.
Bavetta did game 4.
I thought you couldn't do two games in a series with that quick of a turnaround?
I expected Jack Nies, Danny Crawford, and whoeverelse.
I wasn't expecting Bavetta so soon either. I was just taking people at their word. I think D. Crawford did game 1 against Dallas.Quote:

One thing you're guaranteed to get with Bavetta, lots of calls from him when he's out of position and doesn't see the play.
Posted this elsewhere with more detailed reasoning, but Bavetta has to be right.
I'm guessing Bavetta, Delaney, and D. Crawford.
Javie is the most likely interloper on that trio, replacing either Delaney or Crawford.
BEEP refs..
Yeah, but he's a homer.
I hope Danny Crawford isn't the ref. If he is the spurs might as well start celebrating now. He hates Dallas.
I've said for years that I think Danny Crawford is one of the very best officials in the game.Quote:

We need the little sandbag eye gouger things to throw..
Instant replay.. 2 per half per team.
Uh... isn't Dan a fit middle-aged black guy with a moustache and Joey a fat balding white geezer?Quote:

Stern will be in attendance so the refs will be doing their best I hope.

Anyone have pics of the mouthpiece being thrown at Joey Crawford?Quote:

Now this is a fact. Last game he reffed in this series was all about him...and that's what I hate. Javie is the same way. He takes the focus off the game and onto the refs... I can't stand that. We have not had Joey Crawford or Jack Nies in this series, have we?Quote:

Bavetta, Steve Javie, and Delaney were all spotted having lunch together on the riverwalk today.

Fuck it. I don't care if the refs are Stevie Wonder, Corky from "Life Goes On" and Frank Sinatra's rotting corpse.
The Spurs need to take this shit from the start. The Spurs need to come out of the gates with such intensity and dominance that the refs will swallow their whistles out of sheer amazement.
And once those whistles have been regurgitated, the Spurs should be ahead by such an insurmountable margin that the referees will conclude that the best course of action is to let the game end as soon as possible. The only further call they will make is to nullify any out-of-bounds play in order to let the clock run.
:lol :elephant :elephant :elephantQuote:

Please let ESPN/Woody Paige be wrong
This is old news. Cubie already had Bavetta lubed up after game 6
Whoever is going to be there is going to be there. There's nothing to do about that.
Just play the f'n game.
Normally, I would agree.Quote:

The three guys spotted on the Riverwalk are not on one crew.
It would be a little weird to mix and match refs, but it wouldn't be the first time the NBA has done it in big games. That said, there are other possibilities like they mentioned on 760, one of there crews could be in town for game one of the next series...or one of them could be the alternate refs. Who knows.
Also, like they mentioned on the radio...Bavetta could help us. He goes with the flow, and normally favors the hometeam. So if we get in a rhythm, and the crowds raukus, we could have him on our side.
Greg Simmons just announced that both Steve Javie and Dick Bavetta are reffing tonight.
UHG!!
The Woody Paige thing was just him thinking out loud. Nothing to it.
Is this true? Is this really true?Quote:

Eddie Sefko from DMN is reporting that also.
You know what...It's just another obstacle that the Spurs have to overcome...This even makes me believe more that the Spurs will win this...They'll have the game of their life...The more obstacles, the better the victory...
Javie owes us some calls. :lol
what the fuck......are you kidding me.
Bavetta will ref this game?
Well in that case, it was a good season boys... :smokin
:flipoff Bavetta
Bavetta is our friend there actually. Because his companion will be Steve fucking Javie. Remember him?Quote:

Reliable source.
woops.
like i said in my other thread....what was the final FT attempts?
exactly.
why don't you all look up the FT attempts at halftime....then think about REAL HARD about if you SHOULD have been in this game till the end.....
Weren't the spurs like 3-17 or some ridicilous number at the half?
Anywho, the spurs have always been bad at the line. That's not why we lost. We lost b/c the Mavs hit some clutch shots, and we missed some clutch (*cough point blank *cough*) shots. Go suns!
