Jesus man, do you not know how lame you are?
Is this SHOES or KOBE 2.0 or Showtimer?
It's probably one of them.
Jesus, you're retarded guy.
Lakers could be the best scoring team but that doesn't mean they will beat Spurs!
Strong D always beat good attack!
No, because you're a moronic jackass SHOES/KOBE2.0/Showtimer.
Even your Mom could see that. Why not you?
Why don't you stick to the subject instead of insulting people?Quote:

Is that the subject of this thread?
Oh yeah, I forgot, you no longer have Shaq. But Divac should make up for him. Because your a Laker homer, Shaq didn't do anything the past some odd years, right?
Maybe but we will win all next games! :drunk
I love how you back it up.Quote:

Eerily reminiscent of the complete domination of the game where the Spurs ended the Lakers title dreams.
ummm.. the lakers might be pretty good this years, especially when karl malone comes back toward december, but i dont think them being one of the highest scoring teams in the league would be realistic, lets think about who else will score besides Kobe, Odom, Kobe, Butler, and Kobe? You need more than that just to outscore the mavericks and the Kings.Quote:

Next, lets consider Whether Kobe can be effective enough against Bruce Bowen ( i said effective 9-62 with 30 pts isnt effective) to cancel out the dynamic backcourt duo of the spurs' Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker. Chances are they'll probably end up about equal, then can Caron Butler rebound from a shitty season last year and handle any of the scoring load? Will Lamar Odom stay clean and focused?
Take a swing at that LakerGod and then maybe we'll stop laughing.
I predict more pointless threads by hopeless Laker fans.
(no offense to the intelligent, reasonable LA fans, of which we have several)
If the Spurs would lost to the LA this Friday, they will defenetly win next 96 games.

Sincerly,
The Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings.
lakers will start slow with all new players
there is no way the lakers score 110 on spurs
i've seen too much Kobe in my lifetime to say that there is no way. Sometimes these run and gun teams can cause the Spurs more problems than the talented ones. I could see the Lakers scoring 110 on the Spurs, but I can't see anyone on the Lakers even trying to stop Tim from getting 40/20/5. If the Lakers shoot lights out, they've got a chance, but it will have to be from the perimeter, and we all know the playoff fates of perimeter teams.
So, the Lakers COULD POSSIBLY beat the Spurs for one game. The difference in fan base now is that we don't give a crap about one game, we want a TITLE. Amuse yourselves then Laker fans, with your spattering of regular season wins, because it is all that you will have to cling to for a very long time.
My prediction
Butler and/or Odom call out Kobe publicly as a selfish prick before the season's over.
My prediction: The Lakers lose and LakerGod is nowhere to be found.
Quote: "Butler and/or Odom call out Kobe publicly as a selfish prick before the season's over."

Anyhow, I actually think the Lakers will win this Friday night. It's at LA, the Spurs are notorious slow starters to the season. What will possibly hurt the Lakers is having zero inside game with Vlade missing in action.
Close game, but the Lakers pull it off. And upset.
You do know Butler and the Kobester have already gone at it in practice. :lolQuote:

The Spurs win 98-94. The game will not be as close as the score indicates.
Slow start shmoe start, do you remember last year with no Tim or Tony the Spurs took the Kobe, Shaq, Payton, and Malone team of Lakers to two overtimes and a near win.Quote:

Oh yeah, not to forget the Olympic MVP Manu.
LakerGod, Mouse just called and said he wants some of whatever you've been smoking, because it must be premium blend! :lol
Spurs by 8, 98-90. Spurs lead the whole way, with Lakers making a late run but ultimately falling short.
LakerGod, not even Laker fans like you.
This is 2004 MIB. Last I heard, the Spurs got back door swept by the Lakers in 6.Quote:

I'm not sure I can predict this first game's outcome, but from what I've seen of the Lakers so far (first half of Denver game), the Lakers look pretty good.
They run a lot of high screen/rolls but their spacing is tremendous. Denver's D is pretty horrible...very slow close-outs and rotations...so it's hard to guage LA completely by Denver this early.
LA strengths:
* Spacing
* Passing out of high screen offense, extra passes
* Athleticism and decent speed
* Transition game is quite obviously an emphasis
You've just watched a preview of what is going to happen to the Spurs on Friday night.
The Lakers are going to surprise a lot of people this season, don't write the Lakers off yet.
Like I said
Lakers 110
Spurs 91
Book it!
Laker God...shut up....I watched the Denver game, while the Lake show played well, the Nuggs...played like ass. We will be miles better when we get healthy...having Mihm score over 20pnts a game is a bonus, but even I don't expect that too happen often. Once we get Divac, Slava and George back, we'll be deeper and will have a more balanced attack. Our running game is great, as I saw us run more this game than all of last year. That's sweet, but to knock off a team like the Spurs will require a more balanced effort. We'll see, but we have to beat a good Utah team tonight first.
Once we get Vlade & Devean George Back?
Ohhhh how the mighty have fallen.... :depressed
I meant to ask you Med....what is up with Slava? What happened?
Slava “Hot like Lava” Medvedenko had a bruised heel....but at 6-10 250 lbs You Will see him in the mix down low...
Luke Walton was out because of a sprained ankle...Kareem Rush was bothered by chronic foot pain and Devean George is out a few more weeks because of ankle surgery...Vlade will be out at least two more weeks because of a herniated disk in his back...
So the Spurs do have a chance to take this game on Friday....It is a slim one I admit...But it is a chance none the less...
Lakers Projected starting lineup: Atkins, Kobe Bryant, Butler, Mihm, Odom.
He's injured..he'll be fine....I wonder though on his playing time...since Cook is playing well. Still he will be good off the bench and can run the court pretty well.
The Utah and San Antonio games will be tough but the Lakers will win both of them!Quote:

The Lakers will finish the regular season in one of the top 3 spots. :elephant
For the Spurs: Watch out with those Rockets!
bump
Tonight is the night!
Tonight the Spurs wil get destroyed!
Tonight The Lakers will not play like they did in Utah.
Expect a very energized crowd and a even more energized Laker team
You do realize nearly the entire SpursTalk community will be in one place and can post from multiple computers at one time as soon as the Lakers get down by 18 points, right?Quote:

Need I remind you of the box score from Utah's game?
Tonight is a totally different ball game.
The Utah game is in the past.
Your beloved team will have a taste of our "home cooking"
I noticed you disappeared after the Laker loss to Utah...is that something we can expect after every loss?
They're different, but as long as Kobe's over there, you have to be concerned with what the Lakers can do. In the old days, the Shaq-less Lakers have managed to punk the Spurs a few times -- I recall an afternoon game at the Alamodome in 2002, when Shaq was suspended and the Lakers (with a much less talented team than they'll put on the floor tonight) still put it on the Spurs with Kobe doing what we all expect to see tonight. Different teams and a different time, but it's out there.
1/19/02 -- Lakers 98, Spurs 81
I hate predicting games.

And LakersGod, will you be in this forum right after the game if the Lakers lose.. will you be here? Or are you a giantic pussy?

That's why I said "different teams and a different time." I'm fully aware that the Spurs are a much different team. I do recall, however, that many who post here today thought that there was no way a Laker team without Shaquille O'Neal could beat that Spurs team. While these Spurs are better than those Spurs, I don't think there's much debate that Kobe's supporting cast now is better than his supporting cast was on that day a couple of years ago.Quote:

I certainly hope it doesn't happen again, and I like to think it won't, but it's worth remembering that it has happened before.
