I'd say send a message with this one. Melo and maybe Smith with 15 games suspended, the two Knicks with 10, various other guys on the floor with a scattering here and there.

Robinson and Smith went brawling into the crowd. They'll likely get nailed with some major suspenon, likely more than Melo.
If Stern doesn't make the punishment equal to others who did the same thing, just because a superstar is involved, then he will expose his weak shit.
And the penalties should be equal to or greater because the league has made it clear that they will not tolerate fights. If they back down, they will look ridiculous.
They fell into the crowd. Not even the crowd, the photographers. It's hardly the same thing as running up into the stands to punch somebody.Quote:

Spurs should have ejected their starters.

Tonight's brawl took place in the recent context and history of the Pacers/Pistons brawl.
That the fans were not involved tonight is irrelevant.
The Knicks/Nuggets players should have known from the Nov 2004 brawl that the penalties were/would be severe and the NBA/Stern's extremely clear position about such conduct.
The tonight's brawl is not measured and scaled by comparing it with Nov 2004, but against Stern's "zero tolerance" policy.
So the Spurs and Sixers got into a fight?
I wouldn't say everyone. Just those who threw punches. Guys like Channing Frye looked like they were trying to separate players more than anything.Quote:

Does it really matter when a game blog deteriorates AFTER the game?Quote:
