I don't know why Bowen got the ball on that play. But TIm and Tony were playing well off each other.Quote:

Random thoughts:
1. Parker and Duncan both had their moments this game. A more consistent effort throughout the game would have been nice.
2. Manu has been MIA lately. Hopefully he didn't peak too early. He did nothing on either end of the court.
3. Why is Bowen getting the ball down the stretch? If he gets it, it should be in the corner where he can either take a three or pass. Problem was in this game with the Spurs in small ball, Finley had Bowen's spot in the corners sometimes.
4. The bigs outside of Tim just seem to be getting worse. Elson looks like he's regressing and Oberto looks like he's getting shorter.
5. Vaughn's lack of shooting might force Pop to go with Beno.
6. Finley and Barry are two of the top five worst defenders in the league.
7. Pop is going to go to small ball again in the playoffs. He just can't or won't trust the crap bigs the Spurs have. Hopefully he doesn't, but it sure looks that way.
8. The Spurs look like they are costing themselves HCA in the second round. With as good as PHX is, that could be the difference.
9. With three days off, hopefully this team can regroup and sprint to the finish. They really can't afford more than two more losses down the stretch.
10. Duncan was supposed to retire undefeated against the Celtics. That's how this story was written.

good points about the game, I agree
That's my main concernQuote:

Horry is also playing bad
It might be crazy but I'd like to see a rotation of TD/Horry and Bonner in the playoffs, maybe Elson but with no Oberto
The Suns are going to be tough, especially without home court advantage. With home court advantage, I think the Spurs beat them in 5. Without, it will be a long series that can go either way.Quote:

I just checked the box score since I didn't get the watch the game but...
Parker had 30 points, Duncan had 20, 16, and 7 blocks.......and the Spurs still managed to lose at home agains the Celtics? :wtf How is that even possible?
Our supporting cast must really suck.
Spurs bigs (Elson, Horry and Oberto) SUCKS big time
We also was 1-17 from 3PT

They might as well just give the Western Conference trophy to the Mavericks...:(
I wanna hear Pop's post game comments on this....:lol
Since Pierce has been back, the Celtics have been on and off dangerous. Last night's game against the Mavs was a great game - Celtics gave them all they could handle and would have won if Nowinski hadn't hit about 10 in a row late in the game. Tonight they played another good game and walked out with a great victory.Quote:

popovich has to play the centers. i don't care how much he thinks they suck, the spurs are still a better team playing with two bigs than playing small ball. this is a fact. it's been proven over and over again. i don't doubt that the spurs have the talent to win it all. but i pretty concerned that popovich is going to fuck it up once again.
Now this may be a "glass half full" post, but Phoenix, Utah, and SA have all been losing as of late.
Phoenix lost their last two to Detroit, Denver
Utah lost their last four to Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, and Cleveland (4 straight to East)
San Antonio lost their last two to Milwaukee, Boston (2 straight to East)
Strange league when the top teams in the West lose to average or non-playoff Eastern Conference teams.
Detroit over Dallas tomorrow (hopefully).
So, SA should not feel that bad considering the PHX and UTA losses as of late. Glass is still half full.
Will this happen in the playoffs? Not a chance.

I went to the Celtics game and had great seats. Boston has some nice players. Pierce looks a little chunky but can still score. Gerald Green was really impressive. The guy can shoot if you leave him. Jefferson is a beast. I wasn't sure if they played over their head against Mavs but after beating the Spurs, I got my answer. They are better so don't let their record fool you Spurs fans. They will get better. Just add an Oden or Durant. Things looking up in Boston.
I wish I had time to read this thread and pick out a few gold nuggets... :lol
Good stuff... :fro
Great production by the Celtics crew except Tom Heinson is the biggest homer announcer in the league. That shot by 34 was great. Announcer actually said Pierce knifed to the basket.
