Just like every young player who comes to the Spurs, he's spent a year on the bench learning how to play in our system, and next year he will make an impact. mark my words, the kid has a big body, good hands and feet, and basketball IQ is the only unknown.

Balkman's hair is too long. He made Timmy cut his fro and Melvin's cornows are about to meet their maker if he plans on playing in the playoffs. Pop prefers low-top fades so everyone looks the same, creating a team concept by not allowing individuality to permeate into the players psyche and thus develop into a selfish behavior. Pop would cut Oberto's, but according to reports, Pop said that shit looked too nasty, and he didn't want to ruin his good pair of clippers. He's also been rumored of denying Manu's request to seek treatment with a hair replacement specialist.

Lee, Robinson, Frye, Balkman are all still on their rookie contracts. Their salaries have nothing to do with Knicks' management. It has to do with where they were drafted. When their rookie contracts are up, then it's up to the Knicks to decide how much they're worth.

If you want to criticize the Knicks for having a "stupid payroll," you can criticize how they overpay guys like Jerome James and Quentin Richardson and basically every other veteran on that team. But, you can't criticize them for not paying players on rookie contracts more money. That's how the CBA works with respect to scaled rookie contracts.

A youthful long 3 needs to be gotten immediately, as Bowen is declining (not as fast as some would like to believe, however.) I think Pop does whatever he can to get a Renaldo Balkman player this offseason because its the key to the spurs breaking into today's game of fast paces and perimeter oriented offense.
