Ah right like there hasn't been a shitload of "Dirk got too many foul calls in the WCSF but Duncan earned his" discussion.Quote:

Agreed.Quote:
lol, truth is, i like most of the spurs fans here, i even have some (gasp!) in my family, several actually...i'm just playing around...and yes, we'll see whose laughing in june...errr, hopefully for the sake of both of us, it won't be the suns!
Can we just drop the whole "well we have three rings" thing when talking about the current season? If you want to have a debate about the histories of the Spurs and Mavs franchises then yes, that would make sense but having any titles in the past means nothing for what is happening right now. Just because the Spurs franchise has three titles doesn't give them any more wins right now. Just as the whole "asterisk" talk is ignorant and juvenile...so is the "well, we lost last night in Dallas but we still have three rings" comeback. Oh...and noone here has three NBA rings.
*wooosh*....(and the point flies right over your head)Quote:

I agree and that has been, IMO, the Spurs biggest problem this year. Too many times they have squandered leads that cost them games or started off slow and dug themselves a big hole and it takes all they have just to break even and can't finish the job and that costs them games as well.Quote:

I kinda have blind faith as far as that is concerned because Pop and the players know better than anyone else how to keep themselves fresh through the 82 game grind.Quote:

Plus Boston was eventually going to break that streak and it was St. Pattys day and all.
Let's see how the guys end the season. I expect them to play with renewed vigor.
Lakers have almost as many rings as you Spurs fans have fingers! 3x as many trophies!!
What makes you think that your team is anything special?
I have a feeling this was started by a Mavs fan, just to get Spurs fans all riled up. And Laker fan, any team that has 3 rings, is a special team and has special players. so shut the fuck up.

Last season, Dork gets his "and one" and then the Mavs choke to the Heat.
If you guys are going to beat us in the playoffs (well, I guess this is only directed at Mavs fan), at least have the decency to win the finals.
That is all.
Why does it matter? So you can claim being the 2nd best team instead of the 3rd best team? I thought nothing else mattered but winning the title?Quote:

why are so many people taking this thread seriously?
I understand we're on a Spurs board and that the Mavs are the #1 enemy, but this crap needs to get locked and deleted
We tried to (gave up big lead in 7th game) but Manu bailed us out.Quote:

Charles Barkley mentioned one time that he would have gladly taken that championship because it still is what it is as would any player in the NBA, its not the Spurs fault that it was a lock out season. The Knicks would have gladly taken that ring. Personally for me, I'd rather take an * championship than choking and losing four in a row in the finals in front of billions of fans, thats just a tad bit shittier in my book.

You want to act like you are something for having 3 rings and talk shit to Mavs fans and Rockets fans or whoever... I am simply pointing out that you ain't shit... There are teams with MUCH better histories than you po-dunk franchise.

For all the hype on spurs defense, for the life of them, they can't figure out how to defend a title.
Who gives a shit? How many back to backs have we won? None, is that what you want to hear? That your 2 championships over 10 years ago are somehow more impressive? Your an idiot if you dont realize that 3>2. I hate bringing up rings, but since your being such a dipshit about it, I might as well be a dipshit tooQuote:

The 9ers have more rings than the Pats historically, does that make them better? Its all about what have you done for me lately in sports, and the Rockets havent won one in over 10 years, the Mavs still havent won one (although it looks like that will change this year), and the Spurs have won 2 in the last 4, thats what.Quote:
