All Time All Spurs Football Team
American football, fellas.
This team is built on serious speed and agility.
OFFENSE
WR Brent Barry
WR Derek Anderson
WR George Gervin
OT Dennis Rodman
OG Moses Malone
C Malik Rose
OG Cadillac Anderson
OT Will Purdue
TE Fran Elson
RB Tony Parker
QB Rod Strickland
DEFENSE
CB Speedy Claxton
CB Avery Johnson
FS Manu Ginobili
SS Sean Elliott
WLB Devin Brown
MLB Mario Elie
SLB Bruce Bowen
DE Tim Duncan
DT Jackie Butler
DT Antoine Carr
DE David Robinson
Give me a year with these guys in their prime, and I will beat any and all comers. Obviously I would have to bulk up Parker and make some other changes via conditioning.
Who is on your team?
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
RULE: NO CHARLIE WARD. Why? Because thats lame.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
RULE: Antoine Carr and defense shouldn't even be in the same post.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Dude, all he has to do is clog a gap. Big Dawg is more than up to the task.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
You want Rod Strickland passing the ball in a clutch situation?
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Tim would be the slowest DE in the game. David should be a safety b/c he's pretty quick
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
a 7' tall safety. hah, most are like 6'2'', and below.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
What's this? There's no room for Artis Gilmore on this team???
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Charlie Ward Should Be Qb Rod Should Be The Punter
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Strickland was a joke, glad you got it. But Ward is too obvious. I have a suspicion that Vinny D would be a great QB in the pro style offense.
Gilmore was before my time unfortunately.
David would be a complete badass weakside DE. His back would die during or at the end of the year, though.
Strongside DE was the only place I could put Timmay. I like his natural strength if I have a year to get him really working with the weights. What TE or OT is going to block him?
This thread got started basically with my imagining Elson playing TE. Dude is abnormally, freakishly quick for a man his size. Probably wouldn't be a great blocker though.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
I'd use DRob as a WR or TE. I wouldn't put him on the defensive side of the ball.
Duncan would be a QB IMO.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Manu is the obvious choice for quarterback.
-

He played with Gervin but Ice is on your team.
Take out Butler and put Gilmore in his place and it would be better.
Butler can be the short yardage fullback.

Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
take elson out, and throw in JR REID, dude lookd built expecially the members on the 94/95 spurs team

if Parker is at RB, he may actually get killed. literally. 1 hit from Ray Lewis or Brian Dawkins, and his life is over.

Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Is there flopping in football?

Why would anyone want to flop in football? The point of football is to NOT be on the ground. That question in itself was the most retarded, worthless question asked in the history of this forum. It may even be one of the most worthless questions asked in human history. There is no reason to ask such a question, and not even the stupidest of stupid people would consider discussing such a question. You might possibly be the most retarded, brainless human that has ever lived. You are the epitome of stupid. Please do us all, as well as yourself a favor, and crawl under a rock, curl in a ball, and die.

Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
I seem to remember hearing a story about Manu winning some bets by kicking a ball into the hoop from half court, so I think he's doing the punting and field goals.
:tu Whott's offensive scheme. With D Rob at WR just put the ball up high and he'd come down with it.
Rodman would definitely need to be on the defensive side of the ball as an enforcer, maybe as a middle linebacker or free safety where he can lay some big hits over the middle.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
I think you could make room for a pre-injury Terry Cummings too.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Any lineup that doesn't have the following doesn't know football, spurs basketball, or both.
LB- Mr. Mean Larry Smith
CB- Bruce Bowen
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
wheres the other great wall of china, bateer...
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Id put Manu as HB, dude runs through traffic like crazy.

Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
didnt we have jerome kersey at one point down the end of his career? dude was pretty big......
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Where is Kevin Willis? Did you see him pushing clowns around on Joes v Pros? Homie is still yoked up! You wouldn't have to bulk up TP9 if you put him at the full back. But he would prolly be a better DE than Tim.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Move Rodman to free safety; and Moses Malone to OT and put Billy Paultz in at OG
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
My QB would be Avery. Good passing skills, great mind, that is just perfect.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Willis at DE, and Rodman at RT is a joke, and Elson wouldnt be bad at d end with his speed

Guess my memory is failing me but when was Moses Malone on the Spurs? I don't recall that.

His greatest moment as a Spur was launching a one-handed 3 pointer at the buzzer from the other team's freethrow line and making it. It was pretty funny because he was so damn old.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
David Wood as a punter would be awesome. Dwayne Schintzius could be the next 'BOZ' at linebacker.
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Complete with matching hairdo
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
I thought Beno would be the water boy.

I saw that once on TV. It was like the #2 best play of the year or something like that. I forgot what the #1 was, it was a long time ago.

13 years ago, but that play was the shit.
And Beno would be the equipment manager, in charge of the jock straps
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
I found the Moses Malone buzzer beater. It's number #4 on these 10.

Rasho should make the defensive team. :)

Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
I would want Avery Johnson on my team just so I could bench him.

Not long. I typed in NBA Buzzer Beaters and saw a video that said Top 10 1994-95 so I figured it had to be on there.

I can only think of 2 off the top of my head
-
Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
Avery's too short to be a QB. He's too short to be a QB for an NFL Team...much less one that's got an O line composed of PFs.
I think Avery if he had a position would be best suited for running back...so would Manu.
Parker would be a slash...part QB, part wide out, part return man.
Kevin Willis is definitely a defensive end.

Re: All Time All Spurs Football Team
What- no one is looking to draft Nazr as receiver?
:lol
