Dunk contest from last year, that dunk from the free throw line is out of control, plus the song is sick
he's a keeper....
I doubt he'll be here next year, but we'll see.Quote:

Agree. Interesting people are coming to this conclusion.Quote:

Maybe on the first vid, but that dunk contest dunk 2 handed from the free throw line isnt camera tricksQuote:

Next year's roster makeup depends on how badly we flame out in the playoffs.
A thing to notice about White is that Spurs haven't trade him at the deadline while trading him would have saved more than $2M with the luxury tax system. Spurs aren't known to spend money like crazy, so they should be still quite high on him.

Might as well bring in this guy and let Chip Engelland teach him how to shoot. At least he won't have any old habits to break.
:rolleyesQuote:

Check out the 8 second mark...
Is he using #21 before he joined with the Spurs?
kori do you think he hustles in practice?
That's sick.
Here's David Lee kicking James White's ass at the dunk contest. :clap I would take Lee over White any day from HS to now. Give it a break. White can't ball. He can dunk but he can't play/shoot. More to life than dunking.

Why did we need another thread?
Am I having deja vu?
Oh because we have to create at least 5 a day about some guy that can't get off the bench. Hell the Pacers wouldn't even keep him around.
Oh, in that case....
Damn, pitiful ChumpDumper. We can't have 50 different threads about James White and how great of a damn jumper/dunker he is. I think he needs to go to Colorado Springs and become a high jumper. He's a damn thug.Quote:

I found a rather new video of a Spurs player trying to touch the top of the backboard... i thought i'd share... you guys are the ones keeping it on the first page
No problem with that. There are other things he should probably be working on though.
Totally agree...like learning the system that he still doesn't know or how about shooting a shot outside the lane or knowing when to quit locking down on a player and getting to help position quickly?Quote:

What the fuck is up with all the hate on James White? He's not even stepped on the court for us to evaluate his ability, pro or con.
Barring another championship banner being unveiled in November, there better be some guys in there 20's on the roster and I sure as fuck would have a player who's got a year of being on the team in uniform.
Just saying. For fuck's sake.
Couldn't agree more. It's far too early to start giving up on a guy they don't know whether he can play or not. They better invest some time in this kid and see if he can play.Quote:

Unless, of course, the Spurs happen to have another, seasoned, "Euro-come-lately" up their ass, who hasn't seen the inside of NBA lockeroom.
White had his chance. He's done now. F' him. Has been Punk.
Not that I'm completely vouching for Sam's post to be fact. But if anyone on this board knows what JWhite is doing (or not doing), it is probably Sam.Quote:

Why am i not surprised to see a Gator fan hating White ? ;)
I'm not sure sitting him this year, keeping him in the D-league, etc. necessarily means the Spurs have no hope for him. We have tons of experienced guys in there right now. At the 3, we have Bowen who never wants to sit, Fin (who they want to give 20 mins/night) and even Barry sometimes. Until Barry or Fin are traded, or until Bowen needs to play 20 mins a night, there is no way some rookie gets on the court when we are trying to win now. We had a 30 yr old rookie that barely played his first year last year (Oberto) and he was starting this year and playing a big role. Pop likes to prepare guys to succeed when they get out there and rookies make too many mistakes for his stomach to take.
Besides, the guy is skinny like a runway model, they probably want him to get some strength so he's not abused by grown men. A year with our strength coach will do some good if he's committed. Plus of course the ego deflation of not making a big splash and "given" anything his first year will make him appreciate it more when he does make his debut.
The draft and any trades/cuts will tell us if White has a future here. If we don't use our 1st rounder on a SF or trade for one or sign a free agent SF, they will probably give him a shot next year.
Agree.Quote:

Let's not forget the words of wisdom from the renowned sage, Charles Barkley, about White.(or someone like him)
"Deer can run fast and jump high too--but I wouldn't suit one up."
Jason White is the future of the Spurs
Isn't he still playing for OU? :)Quote:

White is progressing nicely.
The shot is getting tuned, but more than anything he prides himself on defense and is busting his chops on becoming an above average defensive player.
Popovich loves the hustle and talent of the kid, but is mostly impressed by the defensive improvement.
Who better to learn than from Bowen, right?
