Can you just bet on over/under?

Yeah, you can bet on just the over/under. There are no odds on the over/under so you'd win or lose what you bet (less the vig). The -10 of the -110 is the vig. Technically there are odds but not like you're getting or giving points (or having to bet a lot of the Spurs to win back just a little).Quote:

You'd still win (less the 10% vig) or lose what you bet. The only time it's not like that is when you're betting on a team to win w/o the spread. The Spurs are -450 in this instance. It's a bad bet unless you have a lot of money to bet and are highly confident that the Spurs are going to win as you won't win much on a small bet.Quote:

I agree, if 189 is the total I'd bet the under. I just might do that myself. My online sportsbook might have a different total though. I can't access it from work so I won't know until when I get home.Quote:

Yeah the under is 189, they haven't gotten to 189 yet in this series...Quote:

I'm used to seeing 5/1 so I know if I bet 10 I'd get 50, so I don't understand these lines like +350...
And for the record I don't think the Nuggets will win, but I can understand betting on them.
Hmm, I looked around online and I think I get it now.
I just have to decide what to bet on...
According to your line posted above:
If you think Denver wins straight up then $10 wins you $35
If you take Denver +8 then $11.20 (Pinnacle) wins you $10
It's actually at +320 now, is it a good idea to wait closer to the game to bet, to see the latest odds?
If I had bet earlier would I have gotten the odds at that time which was +350?
I am a Spurs fan, and I don't think Denver will win, but I'm tempted to bet on Denver simply because the over/under won't win me much...

waiting all depends...if you like Nuggets moneyline (+320), I'd probably hold off till later and see if some Spur money can push it higher.
as far as the line goes...the NBA is notorious for late line moves that occur minutes before the tip. it's not unusual to see a 2-3 pt movement on some games. that being said the 8's that are out there right now won't change much and if they do I suspect it could go to +9 to +9.5 as I believe the late money will side with SA in a closeout situation.
crazier things have happened i know, but putting some coin on a nuggets win tonite...i just don't see that.
You mean you don't think the Nuggets will win?Quote:

As for the spread, no idea...

What do you use to check the odds, Sportsbook has been the same all day for the over-under...
I think Pinnacle also shows 189...
Maybe I'll bet on the Lakers ;-)

totals wise, this series is pretty easy for Vegas to lay a number on and that's why there hasn't been much movement one way or the other since they posted the opening line.
Placing any bets tonight?Quote:

I would bet on the over, from a none gambler's perspective, but from a basketball perspective it makes sense that the Spurs D will be broken down a little more tonight.
Either we win outright with a lot of garbage minutes which means less defense or the Nuggets get a chance to push their hardest and get something going. Either way I think this will be an a-typical game...The spurs will have moments of let down, which will push the score up even if they win.
I almost agree, the Spurs are bound to have a night where their defense is not at it's best, however even when the Nuggets won they were still under 189...
I knew I should have bet on the under...
Everyone said to bet on the over, or at least a few people did.
I knew the under was the smart bet, but I wanted a little more drama and a little more payoff, I bet on the Nuggets and they lost, it was still fun.
EDIT: I guess a couple said over, a couple said under.
I told you to bet the under (or I at least said I thought the under was a good bet). I certainly bet the under. I thought that was easy money. Always go with your gut. It's usually right more often than not and that's all you can ask for in betting.Quote:
