Props to the business like play of the Spurs in the 1st round, but Phoenix is a lot better than two years ago and they're going to be an extremely tough challenge - the only tougher challenge would be allas. Our BIG 3 (Duncan, Elson and Oberto) has to step up and keep amare from getting off early and often. Nash is nash and marion hasn't been spectacular this season - although he could easily be a thorn in our side though. Suns will win tonight and they'll probably make this a long series by running us to death. I'm not looking forward to this series, but them playing the Lakers is definitely to our benefit as they willl have to adjust to a much better competitor.
Sequ is right.
Winning in the first round isn't squat.
You clap, you nod, but thats it. Time to focus on Phoenix.
Although offensively for the Spurs, Phoenix will be a damn cakewalk compared to Denver.
Heyyyy!
I've followed the Spurs since they came into town back in '70's.
And I'm hyped, shit........
It's y'all's fault. I don't worry about slumps until I get here to read about stuff.
I've never questioned the age issue ('cept with VExel) until I hear screaming about how many Spurs are AARP qualified and then I start worrying.
I have alot of faith in Manu's, Tony's, Timmy's talents to get the job done and then I read about the ref's going mentally beserk and ganging up against us.
Then I think "Shit, that's not right!"
But then again, really, I want to thank y'all for for making me scared again! :spin
Being here is as close as I can get to being back to 1998/99.
It opens my eyes again and makes me think about just how much sweat, effort and sacrifice it takes to get an NBA Championship.
3 Championships is an embarrassment of riches.
The first championship run is unforgettable.
For new Spurs fans, this is their first attempt to connect to and ride the playoff rollercoaster. Hold on tight.
Expressing love for the game here, for me it's the greatest arena still available today where a single performer can impose his will to change the entire outcome of a competition where only the best and strongest retainer of wills remains standing at the sound of the final horn.

Not to get too philosophical, but this is a great opportunity to challenge all the "me first" individualism in pro sports with a pure team first motivation. TEAM IS EVERYTHING
Exactly my point. The Suns or Mavericks don't pose any major challenges to this year's Spurs team in the playoffs.Quote:

explanation please? You don't see any matchup problems (athleticism, speed, etc.) or bench depth advantages with allas or the sparklers?Quote:

Where's Moses Malone when you need him?
How tall is this SequSpur anyways? I hear he is shoulder high to most 7th graders! :fro
You sound like a band wagon fan. Remember the days of Walter Berry and Alvin Robertson? A win is a win and to never be taken for granted. I'm sure after the retrement of Larry Bird that the Celtic fans did not think it would be so long to just return to playoff form. Enjoy the victory. Enjoy every victory.Quote:
