Re: Spurs play boring baketball...blah..blah..blah...
:soapbox:
It has become clear to me that no matter who plays on the Spurs or how exciting they are, PTi, Cold Pizza, and all the other b.s. talking heads at b.s.p.n. will ALWAYS call them boring. I personally stopped giving a fuck in 2005 when I saw the most exciting Finals of my life ( I started watching in 1984). When the ratings for that finals series came out, all I could do was laugh.
I think the Spurs are the ONLY exciting thing about the NBA. And I'm not exaggerating. They and a couple of other teams (_allas maybe, detroit, chicago maybe, Phoenix but ONLY because of Nash) are the only reasons to watch an NBA game anymore.
I can't imagine watching a primetime lakers v Knicks game. That would bore me to tears.
I'll tell you what I find boring:
watching a "superstar" take 45 shots to score 30 points.
watching a whole game to see 3 Lebron dunks in a losing cause
watching entire teams that let people blow by them on defense because "shit, it wont make bspn highlights."
listening to Gilbert Arenas open his mouth
wondering what DWade will try to sell me on the next commercial break
wondering what "starbury's" new shoe will look like
If I cared about all of that bullshit, I would watch espn.
No Thanks
I'll take my Spurs and fuck all the rest.

I would rather be "boring" and have three titles than "flashy" and not have shit.

...I would have to say the turnaround hook shot form 15 feet to give the Spurs the lead on Sunday...

we are already getting Warriors trolls?

Let's take it one step further. We eliminate the playoffs altogether and instead America votes for its Finals match up ala American Idol. Maybe Sanjia can be a guest referee and Ryan Seacrest can do commentary. That way fans of teams that never win shit can stop complaining about how bored they are :cry and they can have that entertaining Finals that they've always dreamed about.
Re: Spurs play boring baketball...blah..blah..blah...
The "boring" Spurs scored 111 points in their first 2nd round game.
The "exciting" Warriors scored 112.

And, im sorry...which team won their game? :)

To the casual fan, it's all about the perception that the media creates. That perception is all the casual fan has to fall back on. The real fan knows better.

Tell that to Manu Ginobili.

Their are other contributions to the game than just on the OFFENSIVE end.
I'll give you that Raja ding dong Bell is dooing a job on manu. But why would manu have to force himself into the offensive end when Tony and Timmy got it going? Manu creates for others and MAKES you keep yo eye on him...

I don't get it. First you are telling me that there are other contributions to the game than just on the offensive end, and then you recognize that Raja is going a good job on Manu? Seems a bit contradictory to me.
I don't know if Manu should force himself or not. If Parker has a bad shooting night tonight, will he be aggressive enough to force it? Time will tell.

I know this has been discussed before, but do any of you think that this bias might work against the Spurs in their upcoming series against the Suns since their might be calls that go against them in tight ballgames?
Phoenix is a glamour team that the league would love to see in the finals, while the Spurs are the underappreciated club that puts everyone to sleep, except our loyal fans.
I, for one am hoping that the Spurs take care of business so the games don't come down to this.
Winning is never boring... :toast
Re: Spurs play boring baketball...blah..blah..blah...
People equate scoring to exciting, so, therefore, not scoring = boring.
It's perfectly OK, some people like looking at balls going through holes, and they find it exciting, let's just say that it's not my cup of tea, if you know what I mean. :D

You might need to switch teams; the Spurs scored more points than the Warriors did.
