It's more annoying that the Lakers aren't that good and they still get headlines, like it really matters if Kobe stays with the Lakers.
Major market bias

fuck kobe, fuck espn fuck bill simmons fuck the all nba losers!!!!!
There is an upside to this I figured out last night, all this Kobe talk sorta cancels out some of the "Spurs are the NBA Finals favorite" talk. The way we stomped the Jazz makes us a big time favorite and I dont want our team to get too cocky reading all their own press. We're going to have to play hard to beat the Pistons or the Cavs. ESPN still sucks though.
Remember that movie Big Daddy? Where the kid was playing that card game called "I WIN!"? That's BSPN, proclaiming "Lakers WIN!" no matter who or what is in the game. And despite the Fillmoe statement don't you think he'd be just as ticked when BSPN ignored his WCF (not that it couldn't happen).
BSPN is simply the Lakers biggest fan and only talk about other teams if they have to.
Why do we crave national media attention so much? Why aren't we satisfied with the fact that the Spurs look like they are on their way to winning a fourth title?
And you Kings' fans care about Kobe???Quote:

Get used to it Spurs fans.
Media expects us to win a 4th Title. It's not news.
Fuck 'em. Nobody will remember all the Kobe drama 20 years from now, but everyone will know about the Spurs Dynasty.
True, true...... :clapQuote:

If the Lakers advanced to the NBA Finals and Kobe was a Spur, Kobe wouldn't even make front page.
Don't like it? E-mail the Ombud and complain about ESPN's quality of news judgment.

I suspect it was more calculated than that. Kobe had to get himself into the limelight. His ego can't stand the fact that the Lake Show can't compete well in the West any longer.Quote:

Just win baby. Just win.
This isn't even the biggest ESPN blow off. IIRC their headline in 2005 after the Spurs won was a NBA Draft Preview.
They suck. It's nothing new.
I'm not so sure loyalty is one of Bryants shining attributes.Quote:

You know, I just looked and apparently Duncan was on the cover of the issue before that. I never received it though.
Damn.
