I dunno .. fans and media are making a big deal outta this one IMO. Did we all watch the same game objectively? I mean I totally agree that Bruce tried to commit a foul. But he ended up barely brushing LeBron's side.
Look at the replay again: Lebron was way quicker than Bowen on his way to the ball. Bruce stops for a second and tries to foul, flailing at LeBron. He wasn't even close to Bron's shooting arm. His hand barely brushes LeBron's side, and Bron was on his way down after catching the ball. Bron feels the touch and a full second later rises up and launches his hail mary.
And here the media is acting as if Bowen hit him on the head or punched him in the face or hacked him on his shooting arm. C'mon, I've seen worse contact than a brush on the side go uncalled in pre-season games. If ever there is an argument for a no-call, it is on light, peripheral contact which has no impact on the shot, and happens a full second before the shot itself.
Are you arguing that the refs should penalize Bowen for his intent to foul? Because it wasn't a very good foul attempt, although it was intentional.
