Pupil; sorry!
I think Nellie likes being loaded at the forward position.Quote:

Pietrus.
I don't get the Pietrus thing...at least not now anyway. Finley/Bowen/Barry are still on this team, and James White brings a similar skill set (athleticism & defense) for what would likely be 1/3 or 1/4 of the cost.Quote:

Steve Blake PG - Nuggets..
It's true. I'm a Hornets season ticket holder and I speak the truth: Desmond Mason is where offensive possessions go to die. That being said, he can still play a quality role and contribute to this team. But do not try and sell him as a viable offensive force.Quote:

Ah screw it ... if we can't enjoy a title, then what's the point?
We hope you enjoyed the Hornets the past 2 years. I'm looking forward to them coming back home to New Orleans next year, if only to watch the Spurs put more spankings on them when they come to town.Quote:

you guys saying Devin Brown will be back are clueless....haven't you learned anything from SJax..........I'd target Nocioni first then Pietrus, but we may go back-up PG as top priority
I'm not to sure on the numbers but why bring in guys like Pietrus and Pavlovic and jeopardize the cap room in 08? I'd rather go to war with this team + a few draft picks we get.
Nocioni and Pietrus are long shots, Matt Barnes and James Posey are more realistic and cheaper.
edit: i just thought of another reason i like Barnes.

James Posey sucks!!!No way he gets paid by the spurs next year..
Most people in New Orleans wouldn't be caught dead saying that. I was a very adament fan of the team but we got trolled endlessly for 2 straight years by countless self-righteous New Orleans fans that claimed we knew nothing of the NBA. Silly shit. Although, I'm sure it was a two way street. That being said, I am FROM San Antonio and will always be a Spurs fan before all else. And my brief exile to Oklahoma City will probably end soon and allow me to return to my home state (if not town as well).Quote:

Barnes? Dirty player through and through. Remember this?Quote:

Barnes is dirty which is why he belongs on the spurs.Quote:

In addition, he has the ability to guard perimeter oriented 4s (read: Nowitzki) so that would take care of the one glaring hole in the structure of this Spurs team. Posey's at the age where teams would be leery of throwing a long term contract at him. Pietrus would be nice but I think he will use the Spurs' interest to get someone else to pay him handsomely. Hill would be a stop gap, a nice addition to the bench to be the Spurs' 10th or 11th man. Nocioni would require a few things to fall into place for him to don the silver & black next season.
Here's a small ball lineup for you...
TP
Manu
Bowen
Posey

Sasha!
Hey folks, I'm new to this forum and it's great to see so many spurs fans. There aren't too many where I'm from. Anyway this free agent thread got me excited. I don't think the Spurs will be able to get Rashard Lewis but if they added him with the big 3 we would never lose. I just wanted to throw a name out there that nobody mentioned: Morris Peterson from the raptors. We get a lot of the Raps games up here in Canada and he's been solid for a few years. He's a good role player that can shoot from the perimeter and is an good defender. He would probably come at a much more affordable price. Any thoughts?
I like Morris Peterson's game a lot.
Barnes would be awesome as a Spur, but WAY out of our range
Holt is too cheap anyway
I definitely like Morris Peterson and would love to add him to the squad. That being said, I wouldn't ever take Rashard. He doesn't fit the system and would cost entirely too much.
Finley/Bowen/Barry may ALL be gone by 2008, and it takes a year to learn the system. We need at least one "someone" other than White to bring on board, NOW.Quote:
