His FG% was iffy. I didn't see, but I heard his defense was iffy as well.

Rewatch the game, and see what a turnstile the stiff was on defense.
Rewatch also matt Bonner owning his ass. Troll.
And at the 6:00 mark of the 4th, he'd rolled up 6 points and 6 rebounds. He put up 8 and 4 in the last 6 minutes of the game, against a Spurs lineup that consisted of Ian Mahinmi, Matt Bonner, Ime Udoka, Marcus Williams, and Darius Washington.
I thought Scola was fairly impressive in some ways tonight, but I don't think his statistics were indicative of a guy who's going to be dropping double-doubles on the league most nights.

How many international players who have owned the US NATIONAL team have gone on to dominate, hell, even matter in the NBA? Not many.Quote:

Leave the Scola shit in the dust where it belongs.
It's done. Over. Won't change.
Try to focus on the positive. Cheer for your team.

Three of the above five are the starting team of the Toros. So Scola schooled the Toros. Great job, Scola!
It's unfortunate the game wasn't on in San Antonio, like it was in College Station, so that you could see just how piss poorly he actually played.
See, im still torn on saying "He was owned by matt bonner"
Its like a slight to Bonner, but still, him DRIVING around him the WHOLE game, is embarassing...
Not tonight.Quote:

Who said otherwise. The fact that you base an entire post on one game against third and fourth string players, where Bonner out plays him, or games in international competition is just weak.Quote:

Huh? What?
What is it with these bitter bitches who have nothing better to do than second guess a front office that assembled 4 trophy teams?

SELF OWNAGE at it's finest
Funny how you both then make the same stupid comments.
Posts like the one of yours that started this idiotic thread are the very definition of self-ownage. Scola gets a double double against a Spurs team that rested three starters and didn't play the other two at all in the second half. And he didn't do dick but get abused until the second half of the fourth quarter against a bunch of guys that won't be on an NBA roster in a few days. Shit, I've seen better posts from SpursDynasty, maybe he would be embarrased to be compared to you after this one.Quote:

That same dead horse?
Christ, embarassing.
Garbage time stats. Too bad Scola couldn't stop the offensive juggernaut Matt Bonner at all tonight. Scola's defense just isn't NBA ready, it's non-existent.
I still don't like the trade (because the Spurs gave someone in their division something for nothing), but tonight made me feel a lot better about it. Scola isn't anything to lose sleep over. Neither is Darius Washington, though I'd like to see the Spurs keep him.
Didn't watch or listen to the game forum.

Notice how the person has been owned on Scola, yet continues to spit the same bs about me.
Owned.
Amen to that.Quote:

They made this trade for a reason. Whether it's money or the player wasn't the right fit or whatever it was...They know more than we do.
I trust them. Even if it works against them down the road, I still trust them.
As you said, we've got 4 Trophies to show for it.
Let them make the decisions they need to make. Piss and whine a little if it makes you feel better.
Then let it go and move on.
Jackie Butler!
I like Scola, not so much that he is "that good", but mainly because our PF's last season were so weak. I don't expect him to dominate for us but he should help, especially on an Adelman coached team. If our stars play like the stars that they are supposed to be then we just need him to be capable....
Honestly, I don't know about the rest of you, but I haven't been able to sleep at night since the Spurs gave Luis Scola away as if they'd never spent a single moment scouting the guy -- I'm so butthurt over that deal that even months later, it's the ONLY thing I want to talk about on this forum.
. . . oh, wait . . . . that's not me.
I called it, I should have gone ahead and called the poster who would do it too.
He took 14 shots, and got the majority of his production against scrubs. If you can't understand that, I don't know what to tell you.

If Scola was a Spur Pop would treat him the same as Elson.

Dude, I was AT the game tonight. Scola looked like crap until the end of the game.
I was at the game and Scola was not at all impressive - in fact, I liked Ian's abililty more. He was snagging rebounds off the rim instead of just catching them with both feet on the ground (like Scola's rebounds.) Scola looks like a slower Oberto (if that's possible.) Scola missed so many close shots and really was not a factor. Luther Head was the player that impressed me the most from the rockets. We had a very hard time defending him. I know this has been played out to all means, but Darius was very effective - I've never seen Beno look as good running the point. Also, Marcus Williams has super long arms that helped contribute to some good offensive and defensive plays - he definitely has potential. Williams looked good defending T-Mac as much as possible. Matt Bonner was finally hitting 3's, but he also hussled his azz off and was a pain their azz on rebounds. I'm very stoked at the potential of Ian - he's so raw and even so he was a factor against some good players. Bottom line - I hope the Spurs FO find a place for Ian, Darius and Marcus b/c they are very athletic with a ton of potential. Another game note - Wells torched us in the playoffs in '05, but Udoka looked very good against him. Of all the new players, I like Udoka the most - he makes great passes, plays great defense and is not afraid to shoot the 3. I like our chances this year more than I ever have.
oh yeah, Finley, Barry and Timmy are definetly ready. Finley looked very good.
The lameness of this thread rivals the necessity of TPark having 3 Spurs

Yes by December when the NEW Rockets gel, watch out for Scola ownage hahahaha
That means we should prepare for Bonner ownage even more so...
