I know it was discussed at the beginning of preseason, but I lost track of that thread. Is it really done as the introduction song for the Spurs? If so, what is the new song? Just curious.

I don't know what the new song will be but I'm glad "Ya'll ready for this" is gone. It was embarrassing for the city of SA and Spurs fans whenever that outdated song was played. I bet other cities were wondering if we knew any other song besides that one. So what "new" song should the Spurs use? I guess anything but "rap"!! :madrun
Carmina Burana should be used.
Explosive and classical. Would really be a nice piece to use.
i heard their gonna use a cut from tony's single
soulja boy.
in da house by 50? that one would be cool... or something of naughty by nature.. OPP?
ya'll ready for this is really gone?
I find it hard to believe but i guess it's time has passed. :nerd
So no one really knows? I know there is someone who has gone to a couple of the games that may know.
That wouldn't be an improvement. :lolQuote:

Yall Ready for This should have been done with the same year the Fiesta colors were done with.
Whatever they used in the preseason won't be what they use for the regular season. The intro will, or at least it should be, different.
But Yall Ready for This is gone right?
At the preseason game against greece they used some really cool, dark foreboding, instrumental piece with a good beat. Dont know if it is the permanent song, but it was a heck of a lot better than yall ready for this. The moment when yall ready for this is supposed to start I remember thinking to myself "please no...please have another song...please God..." and they did.
Dead and buried.Quote:

Afraid to tell you, Phoenix, and a crap load of others use it as well.
Phoenix also still uses theBull's intro music.
So are those "hip" teams needing to update too?
Didnt I read also, that this intro song was being "custom made" no one else will have it?
I kinda liked that intro deal they used with the montage of Spurs players on the big screen.
Oh good lord.... :dramaqueeQuote:

Thanks for the confirmation!Quote:

Does anyone know the intro song or not? All this beating around the bush is getting old.
Considering the only time it could happen hasn't happened yet, you should probably be patient.Quote:

I hear it's going to be "Tootsee Roll" by 69 Boyz
Last night at the game they put three songs up on the jumbotron so people could text their choice for game song. Thunder- something by ACDC won - but I don't know if it was just for last night or for the rest of the season.
Are you serious?Quote:

Thunderstruck is the song the Utah Jazz of the 90s were introduced to.
That song still makes me think of Malone, Byron Russel, Stockton, and David Benoit.
Screw thunderstruck.
Those songs choices were for what would be played at the start of the 4th quarter. I think it was an AT&T promo - text A, B or C for the song you want to hear played at the start of the 4th quarter.
They didn't do an intro last night since they handed out the rings. The official new intro will be shown Friday night.
I'd like to see them use "Ladies and Gentlemen" by Saliva. They used it a year or two ago to show previous game highlights.
It was just for the night.Quote:

"Cowboys from Hell"
after all, the team is the SPURS, isn't it? in addition, Pantera is/was a TX band.
somebody tape the intro and put it on youtube plz
Nine Inch Nails and Pantera have a sick version of the Darth Vader theme song and it is wicked as hell. Would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't that the first song Memphis used last night? Then they went to Thunderstruck and finally disappointed me by copying the Bulls' use of the Allan Parson's Project for the intro. Man, that thing was freaking long.Quote:

I don't like the new song they are using for the Shot launch t-shirt give-away.
I can't understand the lyrics so it just sounds like noise.
I liked " Hit Me With Your Best Shot."
Cotton Eyed Joe? What in the name of holy fuck would that be doing in an NBA arena?Quote:

EDIT: 1st post btw
cant wait to see the new intro, hopefully we can transition into the 21st century now.
That's so very true. I don't think there should be music played during the game. Granted with the exception of Defense, ect.Quote:

i think i heard it used in the playoffs. imagine stan kelly over that.
really though how difficult is it to call up just blaze or timbaland or any hot producer and ask them to create you an intro? stupid spurs organization all they care about is winning championships.
I missed it what was it??
I can't believe I've mustered the courage to say this, especially since I was one who complained about that intro, but I'm sort of a traditionalist. I kind of miss that cheezy intro. It just reminds me of the entire Tim Duncan era, going back to David, even Avery. But don't think I like that damn song!

I really, really like it!
So what's the new song?
Anybody got a copy of the intro video?
The intro video doesn't necessarily equal new intro song.
this is starting to rival the mystery of the sphinx. surprising that nobody has posted it yet.
I know.
Im shocked it doesn't have its own thread. Its own review.
How it compares to starting 5 songs from other teams and in the past ones.
I wish I was at the game so I could tell you all what it was like
:lol @ the drunk

no one knows what the song is called?? seriously??
It's not a conventional song... I don't know if it's originally composed or something off of a production CD, but it's instrumental. Personally, the new intro and video are going to take getting used to. The graphics are interesting... definitely more intricate than in years past. The music is operatic and dramatic. As further discussion ensued amongst the people around me, we all started calling the new graphics "Spurs in Hell". That's really what it looks like. After a Matt Bonner three-pointer, they showed his graphic and we dubbed it "Matt Bonner in Hell". With the operatic singers in the intro, it feels even more so. While I'm glad they got rid of "Y'all Ready for This", I'm not, at first glance, overly enthused with the replacement.
Oh noes :lol
I'm glad someone finally answered the question...thanks, spurschick!
Too bad the music isn't great...though I'm not sure why I care. I can't even attend the games, so I'll never hear it!
But, if it bothers everyone else, then it bothers me! :lol
Yeah i wont hear it till the game before Thanksgiving so i dont know why i care either lol.
Now THAT was funny! :lolQuote:

any kind soul have a copy of the new song for us foreigners?
I thought it sucked.
Theres no beat, theres nothing to get the crowd into the flow.
Also the whole choir singing thing is just out of place and stupid.
Boo on the new intro music.
If I'm not mistaken, it's stock production music.Quote:

the intro video is the best they've ever made, its bad ass.
The intro song though doesn't fit with an exciting get fired up starting 5...
Its terrible..
